Don't mind the hats in the background..remnants of childhood/failed Halloween costumes.

Got it today off of craigslist. It's an 05 studio alpine white, ebony board, great condition (tiniest bit of belt buckle rash, but none through the paint). The combination lock is busted, and I may buy a replacement lock down the road, but for now it's no biggie.

I've never had an ebony board before. Do you care for it as you would rosewood?

Of course, it sounds great through the mod50, everything does

AWESOME. I've always loved those white LP Studios. And Ebony = greatness.

You'll hear it all the time, people saying "I like my LP Studio better than my Standard, I can't find another LP that plays as good as my studio, etc etc..." Might have something to do with those fast ebony boards.

SIDE NOTE: Those gibson hardshell cases are sooooooooooo Pink satin and pink fluffy innards? I never quite understood that one... hahaha

ebony looks the coolest, but gets fat/dirty real easy. i've stopped using ebony boards after discovering pau ferro ... same snap/attack, better midrange response. more stable. not as fat.

I'll be interested to hear how the new warmoth neck w/ Goncalo Alves back and Pau Ferro neck sounds on my Swamp Ash strat!

Thanks guys! The ebony does feel really great, and I love the look of the dark black wood in contrast to the bright white paint.

Haha nick, I think it goes well with the "boldness" of the alpine white. I kind of like it now . It's a little 80s glam rock, kind of like "the Darkness" lol.

Dude... THE DARKNESS RAWK!!!! Talk about getting some great tones... their first album has incredible LP+Marshall tones. Nice and raw.

The song "Get Your Hands Off of My Woman, Mother F*cker" is just fantastic...

The song "Get Your Hands Off of My Woman, Mother F*cker" is just fantastic...

I couldn't have this guitar and not put that album on, some great tones for sure. They do a mix of mesa and marshall though, I think it was the singer plays mesa and the other guitarist plays marshall, or maybe it's visa versa. Black Shuck also has some great tone and riff. Even the cheesy ballad "love is only a feeling" has some great tones, like that outro solo.

This guitar sounds AWESOME with the eg3/4. Unbelievable lead tones and some great grungy/dirty high gain blues too. This amp never ceases to amaze me, no matter what I plug into it it sounds good and lets each guitar's individuality come through.
