New Guthrie Clips from A Gig in Spain with Jose de Castro

Guthrie did a gig in Spain on March 28 with Jose de Castro (opening up performing to backing tracks) and here are some bootleg clips from the event. I'm sure Guthrie can't be too pleased about these bootlegs going up on YT, but heck, what can one do? Seems like a good-sized audience showed up in a decent sized venue. The clips are taken from a good distance and the audio quality isn't very good, but still a treat as always.

who cares about the quality when the performance is so astounding!

Guthrie is getting better and that is VERY hard to believe!

he plays other styles with such conviction and authenticism, is as if he's lived a lifetime in each idiom he criss-crosses.

he needs to do a new CD,

and let Mr. Landau produce it and use Mike's rack to record it with...now wouldn't THAT be a treat!

Yeah, seems like Guthrie was on fire during this gig. This version of 'Rhode Island Shred' is just ridiculous. Yes, Guthrie is indeed getting better and better every day, as difficult to believe as that is. He's just not the type to rest on his laurels. He's "competing" with himself now. He's always feeling like he can play better than the day he did before.

He'll get the next album done this year. That's his top priority. And beyond that... Stay tuned!

Great vids Ed. I could not compliment better, mentoneman summed up Guthrie's playing to a tee. I can't wait for Guthrie to put some new material out. Aside from his guitar playing Guthrie
is a very humble guy. I hope he will perform at TM in the future.
I give props to Jose aswell. I caught him at Tone Merchants. He is an outstanding musician.
