Hi All,

I have just signed up to the forum and thought I'd share pics of my new Diezel Herbert and 4x12 Front Loaded Cab I baught this week. The guitars in the photo are a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Fender USA Deluxe Fat Stratocaster. I am using the Line6 PODXT Live as my MIDI controller and FX loop.

Peter - You are a fine craftsman. This Amplifier is outstanding!! Thank you so much for introducing your masterpieces to the world!

Welcome to the forum then! And welcome to the Diezel Club!

Nice rig you got there!

Man, this sucks! Too many Herbert users!

:D Welcome!

I want a VH4 too, I was hoping Peter would send me a gift for Christmas for recommending it to so many people. C'mon Peter

Hi Guitarstu,

welcome

I have a question for you :)

I have a Herbert too and I bought recently a Pod X3Live for recording purpose.

But my question is how connect this and use it like you, Midi-controller and fx unit, not emulations.

If you can drop light for me... ;)

Thank you.

I've got a similar setup, VH4 w/PODxt Live as my midi controller and efx. Here's how I use it...

Connect the MIDI Out of the POD to the MIDI In on the amp. Then connect VH4's Send 1 to the POD's Input, and connect the POD's L/Mono out to the amp's Serial return. I use the serial loop because I use the POD's volume pedal and I also have the "stomp" effect set so that it provides a volume boost when engaged... this way I can get a little more volume easily on any patch. You should disable all of the amp and cabinet modelling. I also use the on-board effects as needed (chorus, delay, reverb). If these are all you use, you might be able to try the parallel loop. One other thing, make sure you set the POD output level so the amp has the same volume with or without the POD in the loop... I test this by unplugging the return jack for a moment and making sure the volume doesn't change.

I don't think the effects are stellar, but I find them passable for live use, and with all the functionality the POD provides in one unit, I think it's worth it. One last note, I prefer my wah before the pre-amp, so I run my tuner and wah in front of the amp, and don't bother with the POD for that. Good luck!
