Ill have the amp within 3 days. I never played one and only know the youtube vids and the sounds on the diezel site.

I tryed the vh4 a view years ago and really didnt like it, it was verry dry sounding and sounded like it had a blanket over the cab. OK, i did not know that much at that point, it could have been the cab i plugged in, guitar, tubes etc. (maybe a little of me)

I bought the Engl SE and its time for something new
Ive learned in these past years that tone is not only the amp you play, but everything in the chain, with the player included ;)
The Engl just hass to much bass and freakin low end, i play the se with bass at 0% and the se has a weird mid kinda voicing which i learned to love. I love the rythem and like the lead, i hope ill love the lead with the Herbert. A view more days and the se will have a vacation, but i aint selling ;) now ill have two beasts to choose from depending on my mood.

I allways gast for the herbert but A. wood with his herbert videos convinced me, thanks andy ;)thanks for pushing me in the direction to spend more money ;)

Good for you and congrats. If you need help spending money, I can always point you in the right direction ;)

A good cabinet + Herbert = THA BOMB. Clips do no justice to it.
I recommend a cabinet with V30s mixed with some other speaker (my personal favorite is EVM12L, but I have had great results with many others) for the best experience with Herbert.

congrats dood

I never played a diezel amp untill i got my herbert and now wouldnt want any other amp.
I have played other amps since i got it but it just doesnt measure up to the herbert. lol unless
i had another diezel ampto go with it lol.

herbert leads rip faces!!! you will have no trouble dialing a lead sound with that amp. oh and the cleans and crunchs arent that bad either ;) :D

Congrats on the Herbert! You won't regret it. I bought my Herbert having never played one and when I got it I felt like I won the lottery after playing it. And after 7 months with the thing, I still get excited to play it. It sounds so freaking good. And the longer I play it the more versatile I realize it is.

Very true. I've only heard one Herbert clip I really liked. I don't know why that is. I've recorded mine in studio and think it sounds amazing on the recordings. Not sure why the clips are all crap.

And yes, get yourself a damn good cab. I love my Herbert with V30s as well. I run a Mesa Road King cab with 2 V30s (closed back) and 2 MC90s (open back) and it's fantastic with the Herbert. Just amazing. Clarity, projection, big low end. I can only imagine what the EVs must sound like with the Herbert.

The standard ev´s or black label?

Both are good, but I like the standard better.

If you don't wanna mess with your cabinet you can just run an extension 1x12 or 2x12 cabinet/EVM12Ls with your 4x12 or 2x12/v30s, you get pretty much the same effect. I tend to dig 2-v30s/1-EVM12L ratio, but 2/2 is great too. Hell, even a 1x12 with a 4x12 sounded great to me.

im using a 2X12 engl V30 Pro cab, this should do just fine

Haha, OOoooooooooo.

I'm thinking of getting a Diezel 2x12 and some combination of speakers, not sure which though... I don't know much about them, only ones I know = V30 + G12K100, maybe that's a combo right there? :)
