Hi, y'all! Just got a used TM combo, and Ive got my GC 30 days to find out if I want to keep it. I play in a hard rock/hard blues band as the singer, harp player and second guitarist, and we are pretty loud - the other guitar player uses an Orange rv 50 half stack, and my Blackheart HD15 head with 2 1x12" cabs wasn't loud enough, so on a budget I picked up this TM combo. Havn't gotten to REALLY open it up, just a few mins in the store and low volume at home. I like my rythm tone to be AC/DC (Think Fly on the Wall - more distortion than earlier stuff) and my lead tone to be Angus ish. Just messing with it at home, I have the contours IN on both dirty channels. Anyone have any tips/suggestions for a new Tourmaster owner? Thanks, y'all - looking forward to hangin' here!

The Tourmaster is a powerful amp, for sure! I would try some of the suggested settings in the manual, some of which I like a lot. If you don't have it you can get a manual at http://www.egnateramps.com.

Thanks for the welcome, and the manual idea! I did download it and print it up last night, and I tried some of the sample settings as well. It seems that I like my 3rd channel the best- contour in at about 1 o'clock bass about 2 o'clock, mid at 10oclock, treble about 1 o'clock. This is all at bedroom levels, mind you - I'm sure everything will change once I crank it in the rehersal space in a few days!

Channel 3 is my favorite, but I also like one and two as well. I am also kind of a blues player, and channel 2 cranks really well. Run the gain up to about 2 O'clock in classic mode and you can get some great snap and snarl.

If you like the sound on my myspace band site...That's all Tourmaster....I keep the contour off on all 4 channels..I also use Scumback M55HP speakers...That's part of the tone I was going for...
