Im new to Rig Talk and come from the ESP Guitars Message Board (Imperium) and come in peace. Have been looking for a good "second" board since the old HCAF switched to its poor new form and havnt been back since.

I got a Tweaker 15W head on Friday of last week and love the little thing lots. However i have a couple of questions;

1] Do i need to do a re-bias if i change the 6V6s out to 6L6s or EL34s??
2] Is there anything that can be done to the FX Loop as i find it muffles my sound whenever i effects in it. I have tried a Keeley DD-3, MXR Carbon Copy and a MXR Black Label Chorus in it.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome!

I don't have the tweaker so I can't answer the first question, but my guess to the second is that the line level of the tweakers loop is causing your effect pedals to clip. Most pedals aren't meant to handle line level signals in the loop (+4), and instead were designed to only see a guitar level (-10db). You can try something passive like the ebtech line level shifter, or you can check this thread out and see if Bruce Egnater will still be able to make you one: It's a box he designed to take care of this exact same problem.

That makes sence, and now i will look for something that does that job, or get Egnater to make their one for me, as im sure this would make better sence than anything else, and if it can go in a rack all the better as im now looking at a 2 head option for my rack once i start to build it.

Full disclosure: I have an ebtech line level shifter I bought to use with my egnater, but being so busy I never got around to setting up my effects so I never used it. Then when I saw egnater came out with this Igot it because they make such great stuff I figured I couldn't go wrong. So if you are looking for an ebtech, I have one for sale/trade for cheap. Can't go wrong buying Egnater though, it's always worth it :rock:!

I was looking at the RJM Mini Line Mixer for a simmilar idea, but if my Egnater dealer can get me the Egnater one for a decent ill probably get that one.
