more specifically, wrapped up and under the tree - my wife insisted. The wait is awful. But she's awesome - like for letting me get the M4 in the first place. I did get to try it out first for a few minutes after I told her I had to make sure all the modules and channels worked. ;) Which they did of course!

The modules I went with are the T/D, COD, SL2, and EG5. I talked to Frank on the phone a bit and after asking me about my musical tastes and about types of tones I liked that's what he recommended. I think he was right on. THANK YOU FRANK!

And for the guy in another thread asking if the EG5 was 80's metal sounding - SL2 is more 80's metal, i.e. hotrodded Marshall. EG5 sounds more modern hi-gain. At least that's my impression after my oh-so-short test.

And kudos to Egnater and AmpLounge! A real pleasure doing business with them. Called them for info and Frank was very patient and helpful. When I ordered Jeff told me the lead time was 2 weeks. EXACTLY 2 weeks later, TO THE DAY, I got "the call"! On top of that, they don't even take your credit card info until you get the call and they're ready to ship. So refreshing after dealing with other bozos that tell you a time and then don't deliver until MUCH later (custom guitar told 3 months - delivered 9 months, cutom cabs told 5-6 weeks - delivered 16 weeks, local guitar setup and some trem work told 1-2 weeks - ready 8 weeks).

And thanks to you guys on this forum. Your postings helped me make what looks to be a fantastic purchase.

Congrats Hank, nice selection, gotta hand it to you,I wouldn't be able to put it back in the box.I'd go get the wife an early something to acommodate the next few weeks bro :D Merry Christmas

AWESOME HANK!!!!

Wow, that must be tuff lookin at that box everyday. That's cool though man, it's sweet that you have it and I understand her wanting to give you something that means so much to you on Christmas. She a good one, give her a big EGNATER hug from all of us in the family. It would drive me nuts but I still get it. You are going to be a happy camper. Enjoy your rockin' Christmas morning.

Congrats Hank! I think you made the perfect choice of 4 modules. With those 4, there is not a tone you cannot get. And I agree, EG5 does not sound 80s. I think SL2 and EG3/4 are more 80s.

Congratulations! 2 weeks is amazing. Also congratulations to blindmuddy - I ordered my mod50 11 weeks before you and still not ready (29 weeks and counting)! I guess they're not done in the order that their placed.

Just to clarify..Hank got a M4 pre..much easier and quicker to produce! Heads are moving along as fast as I can make them...this coming week will be nice for quite a few Egg heads!

Yeah, Frank really nailed it for me when he recommended those modules.

And the wait is actually even worse. I'm off from work until the 26th. So I have all this time off NOW, trying my best to ignore the box under the tree. Then I'll finally get my new toy on Christmas day, and have to go back to work the next day - while all the other kiddies get to play with their toys the rest of the week. AAAARRRGGGHH! Oh well, I'll deal with it - it's an Egnater M4!

As for getting something else for the wife in exchange for letting me have my pre now - the 52" LCD HDTV was delivered and setup today. But she argued out of that one by saying it's for the whole family not just her (even though she's the one that really wanted it and she's the one I bought it for). And another gift is arriving for her today but she won't accept it now because she wants a surprise under the tree to unwrap on Christmas day. She's always just one step ahead... :)

I can see it now, little holes in the box for some 1/4 inch patch cables coming out of the wrapped M4 hidden by somemissletoe or some christmas garnish. LMAO :D Another couple weeks you'll be in heaven!

Congrads Hank, the wait until Christmas woud kill me! Excellent choice of modules.

Enjoy,
James

You, my friend, have glacial patience! Very impressive indeed. Also, a very amazing and versatile combination of modules. The next totally new voice I'd want, if it were me, would be the VOX.
