New member seeks a bit of advice. Rebel 30 Head.

Hello all. I have a rebel 30 head that I've owned for about 6 years now and I've never had to do anything to it. No tubes or anything. Recently I noticed that the clean channel on 2 is equal in volume to the drive channel on 8. Tone isnt too bad but I think it used to be a bit edgier than it is now, and the volume is definitely not typical. Im thinking its time to try some new tubes....just a hunch after a bit of research.......

Does anyone have any advice as to which tube/tubes to replace first. Im thinking it could be a preamp tube...again..a hunch.

If you've never replaced the tubes in 6 years of playing it - even sporadic playing - then yes, definitely replace the power tubes (probably the pre amp tubes as well).

As for brands, you'll get a ton of answers, but I'm perfectly happy with JJs.
