New Mesa Boogie John Petrucci 1x12 Combo Amp

I doubt too many people here will be interested in it, but it's worth knowing about.

Mesa just released a new JP2C open back 1x12 combo. Apparently Channel 2 is now a Crunch channel as opposed to the standard JP2C's Channel 2 being a high gain rhythm channel?

Anyway, quite a bargain at fucking $4,299 holy shit.

Seems like a cash grab towards people who still think high gain combo amps are a good idea for some reason. It honestly doesn't even make much sense to me as a concept, but there you go.

I think a high gain combo for bedroom jamming works ok; especially a simplified mark series platform, that can cover a lot of tones.

If they had this in a low wattage version, in the $1200-1500 range, they'd be onto something useful.

I don't think channel 2 is a crunch channel. If the original had that instead of two nearly identical lead channels I would have kept mine. If was killer on both ends of the spectrum but not much in the way of middle ground.
