This album has been about ten years in the making, but we just released the first video and are kind of pinching ourselves that this thing is finally done. If you guys are into up-tempo metal with singing, you may dig it.

I used a bunch of guitars and a few amps on this album, but the winning combo that I kept coming back to was my Splawn QuickRod and a few of my Suhr Moderns. This track is a Suhr Modern Antique into the Splawn feeding V30's. The clean stuff was either a Fender Super-Sonic or the clean channel of a PT100.

** EDIT **

We just released the second video ahead of the album release on the 31st. Posting it in this thread in case any of you who were so supportive of the first track wanted to check it out. Thanks again!

We engineered, mixed and mastered it ourselves and we're pretty proud of the results. If you guys are into up-tempo metal with singing, you may dig it.

Hell yeah man!! Great tune!! Cool visuals! I’d be proud too. Great job🤘

I’d be stoked about that as well. Needless to say the guitar tracks are killer. But what really hits me are your singer’s vocals. Very reminiscent of Chris Cornell. The video looks like what is happening in Ukraine/Russian front- lots of imagery. Great job on the entire song.

Thanks guys. The video was an interesting obstacle because we're all in different parts of the country now, so being in it ourselves wasn't really an option. We gave the guy that did this video for us a few loose concepts and then just let him roll with it. It only took a few really minor tweaks and we were done.

Appreciate the kind words!

Funny that you say that. The singer has put out a few solo records outside of this band, and one of them has a cover of Black Hole Sun. He asked the drummer and I of our band Into Shadow to play on it.

That's EXCELLENT. You guys play to a very high standard. Did you play that solo at the end? If you did, what gear did you use? Especially interested in what pickup was used. That tone KILLS.

Thanks! Yep, that was me. The solo was played on a Les Paul Traditional with a 57 Classic+ pickup in the bridge into a a Suhr PT100. I was boosting the front of the amp with a Maxon OD808. The head fed a Suhr Reactive Load and I was using an impusle response of Greenback loaded cab with a blend of a 57 and a 121. The rhythm guitars were a Suhr Classic S with a SSV pickup in the bridge into the same rig except I wasn't boosting the amp.

I couldn't ask for a better reply. Thank you!

And the SPLAWN MAFIA drops another killer tight metal/hard rock amp tone much to the dismay of the haters!:yes:

Great amp tone that is just massive, tight with that midrange metal bounce on the palm mutes but with great bite, loved it, the overall mix of the song is excellent and professional all the way,:2thumbsup: This tune reminds me alot of NEVERMORE...............CONGRATS! Great sound, I enjoyed it!

I can hear some Chris Cornell in you singers voice...............:rawk:

Thanks so much! The Splawn stuff just ticks all of the boxes for me. I have several amps and have owned more than I care to admit, but my QuickRod is the amp that I compare everything else to. It always sits perfectly in a mix, it responds to my hands the way that I want it to and it's near indestructible.

If you sold CD's I'd buy one! If that one song is representative of the rest of the album!:2thumbsup:
