While browsing through the Warmoth website I decided to grab a new neck for my Warmoth partscaster. I saw this on in the in stock section and grabbed it. It’s baked maple with 1-11/16” nut width, Tusq XL nut and 6550 stainless fret. I’ve been wanting to try their ‘59 neck carve for a while now since all the other necks I’ve bought from them were the standard thin shape. It turned out to be really killer. Not nearly as fat as I was expecting. I spot leveled the frets and finished it with Tru-Oil. It turned out fantastic. I hope to get it installed tomorrow so more to come…..

I agree. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s going onto a flame top body so I wanted it to look playable, not like a piece of furniture.

Awesome look. I've had the last two or three with that '59 Roundback profile and it's killer. Just the right amount of girth and not too much shoulder.

Damn beautiful neck brother, congrats. I have had a special order AAA birdseye neck from them before. They make great stuff. Play the frets off of it and enjoy it in good health LP Freak.

Looks great! I hear Birdseye can be unstable anyway...no matter how great they can look.

I have had three on strats. The first one was a CS Am Classic and it bowed hard. They replaced it, took six months, and it was fine except the satin finish lifted on the dots and around the logo. The warmoth easily exceeded both of them in quality though. I would never buy a Fender branded strat again after sampling Warmoth products.

I’ve heard the same but don’t know how much truth there is behind that. I know EBMM and Charvel uses them a lot. I can’t imagine they would if there were issues. This one only has some flecks of birdseye. I have three other Warmoth roasted maple necks and every one is really stable.

I had one Charvel with Birdseye; a mid 90s SDIV which was from a USA run of 3 yrs with those funky 'ballsack' headstocks. Great guitar and the neck was fine while I had it.

This neck look like something farthest from a quaternsawn piece, still I like the look of the grain 🔥

That's a comfy profile!

The neck looks great ...Congrats! :2thumbsup:

I love that neck profile. Nice and meat. Never really liked their standard profile.

Good on you for going name brand Fender and not something like a Warmoth!

That's one beautiful neck!

I only have one Warmoth neck so far but I'm a huge fan.

If dried properly I don't think any of the figure or even whether it was flat or quartersawn matters that much when it comes down to whether it's a great sounding neck. Some necks are just better than others. At least that's been my experience. I did have a AAAA flame maple neck develop some slight undulations in the finished (TruOil'd) surface that was from the flame but I assumed that was not properly dried (not roasted and not Warmoth). I sanded it out and re-oiled...and sold it.

I also think guitars/re-necks/etc improve over time after they have been assembled. I always final-tighten the neck screws while under string tension but they still seem to improve (sound better) over some time.
