New preamp tubes in the Herbert

Well, after almost six years of solid trouble-free operation I finally had to replace my preamp tubes in my Herbert. I have to say, that's a record of some sort for me with preamp tubes. I'm lucky to get a 1-2 years tops. Anyway, I followed Peter's recommendation of Ruby 12AX7C5HG+ in V1/V2 and the regular Ruby 12AX7C5 in V3/V4/V5 and splurged a bit ad put another HG+ in the phase inverter spot, and the Herbert is back breathing fire. If anyone is on the fence about spending the extra $$$ on some new preamp tubes, I can testify that you won't be disappointed with the Ruby tubes.

I was informed that the latest incarnation is the 12AX7AC5 HG/HG+ HIGH GRADE A Chinese 12AX7A tube.

I'd like to try the C7s. They are basically a cryo treated HGC5+
