Hello!

With my COD fixed I was happy... BUT here come strange volumes variations
With any modules in any slot in low and high power mode...
Any idea?

Listen to the file I attach.

Thanks

Can't listen at work.....I'd check pre tubes in the chassis, then the power tubes. Always start with the easiest stuff first.....tubes being just that!!

Sounds like a bad pot, lots of static on my end if that's what I'm supposed to hear.I had a module sound like that and sprayed a little of the deoxit in the pot and turned for a while and presto.but could be a bad tube

I've read that this might also be the jacks in the effects loop (series). Try just using a jumper cable between the send and return jacks of the series loop to see if that fixes it. If it does, then use some contact cleaner (very small amount) in the jack, then plug/unplug the cable a few times to clean it off. I know other guys on this board have had this happen to them, and it was an easy fix.

I just changed the power tubes. It doesn't change anything. :(

ok.
Just try your tips.
I start again the amp and it seems ok. But I doubt it comes from that because I always run some effects in the loop and I never had this problem before.

I'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks for your help. If you think to something else... :)

+1 on this also

I think I have found something...

Please, owner of the COD, tell me what are your gain and volume setting on the COD and on another module (VX or ERECT if possible) you use with.

In fact, I use the volume of my VX at 12 o'clock (gain at 12 o clock) and to have about the same volume with my COD, I can't raise its beyond 9 o clock (gain at 2 o clock) or the sound is too loud... Is it normal?!?!?

I just want to verify all is allright with my COD

That is normal. I run my VX with the gain at 9:30 ish (use it as my clean) and I run the volume at 2 o clockish I think. On my EG3/4x I run the gain around 2 oclock and I have to run the volume around 10.

Gain and volume work with each other. If you want them to be more even and have a little more channel volume on your COD, turn up the volume on the vox, then turn up your volume on the COD. Then turn down the Master volume.

Also, run a known working instrument cable from the series send to the series return to check whether its the loop jack causing the issue.
