Have any Bogner vets settled on a suitable EL34 replacement for their early Bogner Ecstasy amplifier? What's the best new-market replacement? I've read that the Ruby EL34BHT's (Doug's Tubes) were specifically made for amplifiers with high plate voltage. I'm leaning toward either these, or maybe the SED =C=? I've never liked the SED =C= tubes in any amp though.
The screen voltage is another concern. I was told that in an email that; "part of the "magic" of those early Bogner's is due to the higher screen voltage...". So I guess plate voltage isn't the only factor in determining which tubes would be best. My '92 100B reads 524 VDC @ plate, and my '95 101 reads 525 VDC @ plate. I don't know what the screen voltage, but was told that these early models run 500 VDC @ screen!
