Hey guys, so after 2 months or so, I finally sold my Triple Rectifier and have my Rebel 30 head and cab. Fired the thing up last night, and damn does it have a nice tone. I'm still trying to get used to the amp, and tweak it here and there. And I was kind of suprised by how much noise the thing gave....maybe I'm just sensitive to it, but I thought it was louder than the triple rectifier, but I could be wrong. Anyways any tips on taming my R30?

Noise in like white noise?

I to notice that in particulair the clean channel has a steady white noise upon firing it up. At first I thought it was pretty noticable, since my last amp was dead quite. But I have gotten used to it I guess. Funny thing is that I didn't notice that much on the drive channel, more so on the clean. I swapped out V1 preamp tube to a tungsol, and it definetally brought the noise floor down a little bit. I ended up going back to the original Supplied tube however because I thought it sounded best. Still going to experiement, but my guess is that there are quieter tubes that will help tame the somewhat noisy circuit.

Raising up the volume overcame the noise, rather then adding to it for me, but putting an efx in the loop brought up the noise floor even more. I am gonna have to experiment with tubes for sure.

great tone though huh!

Hmm, I don't really get any noise from mine

But enjoy the amp man! It's a killer combination of size, features and tone!

Throw a boost in front...I promise you won't be dissapointed

Tubes man. Try some different one's. Start with the pre amp tubes and see what happens.

I tried putting a noise gate in the fx loop to quiet down the amp, but that didn't work. Thought it would since it did with the Mesa. I have a Nova System hooked up to the amp, so I'm sure there is some level tweaking on the NS that I need to do, that would probably help with the noise floor.
