First of all I want to say hello to the rigtalk forum.
I’ve been reading the topics for quite some time. Interesting stuff!
I am living in Germany, play the guitar for 30+ years. I’ve played several Amps (Marshall, Acoustic, Fender, Music Man, Peavey…).
In Dec. 09 I bought a Renegade 112. I had to send back the first Amp because it had dropouts and no headroom on Ch 1 at all. But Ch 2 was amazing, so I ordered another amp.
This amp sounded the way I had always hoped an amp to sound. Heaven!!
Last weekend during a gig I had problems:
The volume was alternating and the cleans started to distort on Ch 1 (Gain at 11/Volume at 4). Ch 2 started to distort far more than expected (Gain at 10/ Volume at 9/Mastervolume at 8.30). I tried both poweramp-sides 6L6 and EL34 – same result.
It may be a problem in the preamp-section. Has anyone a clue which tube may cause the problem?
At bedroom level there is no problem at all.
Thanks for your help
