Hello everyone

Just picked up the Renegade head with the 2X12 cab. This amp is pure bliss! But i do have one question.

I am running a Korg Pitchblack, phase shifter, delay and an EQ in the loop. On my other amp, stepping on the Pitchblack would mute for silent tuning. Not so with the Renegade. If it matters, the tone coming from the cab is a higher pitched chime, maybe like a sitar.

Its not a huge ordeal but i do prefer tuning in silence if possible :) Hope i am not looking over something obvious, which is quite possible.

Thanks for any info

I am not sure this has anything to do with the amp. I'm thinking cables? Batteries? Just for the heck of it, try plugging the thing in between the guitar and amp and see what happens.

:scared:

Thanks for the reply :)

Swapped to the other amp with the same cables. Works fine there as well as in the Egnater.

The stomp box kit is powered with a one spot. That as well worked fine when i went back to the other amp.

Curiously enough, i took the Pitchblack and plugged in between the amp and guitar. In this case it does mute when engaged. Tried back in the loop and no go

On edit: Just noticed when i switch off the reverb on the Egnater footswitch, the Pitchblack mutes as normal while in the loop

However it wants to work is just fine by me:)

If it were me, I'd be running the tuner out front anyway, especially since that's how it seems to work best.

May do that anyway. I had the board set up this way for ages and simply moved it over when i got the Egg home.

Yeah man, run the tuner in front. You don't want a pre amp signal going into that. At least in my opinion.

The reverb, if I am right, is in a differant position then other amps. I am using a gt-8/4 cable method and this also happens on my clean channel when I use the gt-8 tuner, I beleive is in the chain after my eggs preamps. There is no option to move the gt-8 tuner like all the other effects, pre or post preamps. This does not happen on my dirty channel do to the reverb being off. I am still learning but I hope this makes sense.

I think you are hearing something to do with the reverb and not the tuner, if I am follwoing this correctly. People have had some issues with the Renegade reverbs.

I would just run the tuner in front. Probably where it should be anyway.

Thanks everyone!

Got the board rearranged and running the Pitchblack out front. Seems to be fine with this configuration. Obviously something to do with the reverb.

Also, did notice some random volume drops which usually indicates a tube going out? But, seems to have only done that while i had the board in the loop. I unplugged from the loop and didn't notice it again. But that was only a brief test and will try to recreate it again later today.

I think the reverb was designed to spill over from one channel to the next so if you change from one channel the other and you only want reverb on one and not the other, when you switch, the reverb has a natural decay instead of an abrupt cut off. That may be what causes the issue.

Update, if anyone cares

As stated the Pitchblack issue was resolved by putting it out front. It was the reverb causing trouble while the tuner was in the loop. I could kill the reverb on the Egnater footswitch, then stomp the Pitchblack, but eh:)

The other problem i mentioned with random volume loss seems to be due to the EQ. I system atically pulled each pedal out and played for a bit. The BOSS GE-7 seems to be the culprit.

If its an issue with that pedal and the Renegade, or my pedal itself is open for discussion. I am leaning on the pedal. The level switch on the GE-7 has been a bit scratchy as of late.

Anyway, thanks again:)

The reverb is in parallel with the loop. This means if you mute the loop the reverb is 'bypassed" around it does not shut off unless you turn it off at the pedal.
