hey guys posted this on the ESP board but wanted to also get the Diezel guru's feedback as well. ;)

well thanks to all the advice from poid and beyond I am getting closer to my goals with their advice. So with the Lambda, Cubase (I finally learned to love it much more than PA 9, I found like everyone says....once you play around with it, it actually is pretty user friendly and easier to mix :lol:lol)

So here is a sample of new dittle I am working on. I am done for the night, but after all day trying all the different cabs, i settled on the Diezel Rear loaded, one SM57 1 inch away from the center lower right cone (no casters blake ;) ) and mixing numerous times...I am spent for today.

I know the drums need to be louder...and the left side is a tad louder. Weird as with the monitors it was not prominent, but for some reason I make a track....then do the other side....same settings....same mic set up...no post EQ (on anything at all actually).....and the next track for some reason come sout a little louder than the right side.

so tomorrow I will do another mix with the drums and that one side of the guitars....plus the feedback if you could please give me.....like too muffled....too middy....volume fuckups etc...much would be appreciated.

Pix of the ghetto studio, oh and also my OD settings, so you guys (blake) can make some suggesttions as to what to raise lower..etc...Thanks guys!!! :)

LOL I have either sit indian style or sit on a crate:lol

Great playing buddy,
but´s to muudy

Yeah need to raise the drums, and rasie the Treble and mids tomorrow when I re record and do another mix. Thanks Peter! Expect as usual a in depth Herbet vid next week!!! :D :D :D

Cool, my wife overheard heard it and likes it :) Overall the overdrive guitar is dominating the mix, I'd like to hear the clean up louder along with the drums. I'd also dial the mids up to at least 12 o'clock on ch3 and go from there.

Are those the settings you were recording with?

First - lower your channel volume & boost your power amp to about 12:00. Boost your presence to 2-3, bring the mids up & by then you will probably need to back down your gain to lower than 12:00. That should bring some clarity, a lot of it actually.

Bingo guys. Yeah same feedback. More mids and treble, drums I already knew were too low in the mix.

LOL anyone know where the hell the master mix board is in Cubase 4 LE? I can't find

Also the friend I boght the herbet from was telling me about using "waves" pug ins to help master and get rid of the life sound? Anyone can tell me more? Thanks bros!

new mix coming up tonight. The men Mr. Herby comes I do a nice well recorded Demo vid, like I always do....make too many vids before I sell something. But the VH4S is the one amp I have ever owned the longest in my life,no joke. After all the reviews and feedback i read about the herbie and clips I hear also, I think she also will be come a keeper like the VH4S.

Peter stop making such sick amps, your killing me.

Hey I was selling and may do a demo for Rudy's Music on 48th street in NYC. He built a whole HUGE new amp room. He may want me to come down and bring my VH4S and let them demo it. he is a very very nice guy and basically the biggest and best dealer in NYC. I would check em out as a dealer. ;) NYC and the surrounding areas really only have one dealer that I found. Guitar Asylum and het never has any in stock. Now Rudy....buys a shit load of amps and has tons of stock, not that he built this gorgeous amp room. I told him I would make a vid tour of it for him, since at the time he hooked me up lovely with a triaxis at a good price and we hit it off. Mad cool guy

Ok here is another mix for some feedback my guru's! :)

I re-recorded the amp with rasing the mids, treble and presence. I should have taken a picture while I was up there of at what "o'Clock" :)
Raised the drums.
Lowered the Bass :)

Same issue with one side a tad louder than the other. But it is weird as it is not very prominent in the monitors upstairs, but when I mix it and bring it down to my main PC, it appears:confused:

New Mix

Thanks guys

a big step up, still too much gain I think. cleans need to be retracked.

At this point it's difficult to say anything else before I know what else is going to be there.

OK, new Diezel settings (need to take pix)
Cleans are with a JC-120 Head going thru the Diezel cabs. Micing one mic on axis on the top left speaker of the Diezel rear loaded cab 1 inch from the grill (is that too far?) Ezdrummer for drums, Bass I just go direct into a POD XT. What was up with the cleans? Thanks man!!

it's definitely improving man! keep posting as you fix things.

I'd add a tiny bit of reverb to the rythm tone, just to get it less "stiff"

Clean guitar still needs to come up.

yeah i was just listening to it in my car, for sure. New mix tomorrow :)

Here is just a quick vid I made for tone reviews etc. So just playing some fanboy stuff as usual ;) The distortion is the VHS channel 3, the cleans are the JC-120 thru the Diezel rear loaded top speaker. When the Herbert comes I'll do reviews fiannly with good sound for both the Herbet and the VH4S

It's a bit difficult to do some special comments since I have no experience with JC-120, but you need a lot more definition, bringing up mids might help quite a lot. Mic positioning is questionable too.

BTW you need to back down that snare & I can hear no kick drum, you need to EQ it & add some click & lows to it.

Yeah it was first song with EZdrummer. I have a new one I am working on now. I changed a lot of the Mic's on the drum mixing board so it sounds more linear and pro quality.

Fuck I deleted the demo above in cubase, so that is my last mix of it. Unless I can find the drum wav if I still have it. :)

dude, I LOVE EZdrummer........ all my clips are done with EZdrummer.

I'm gettting some Vdrums next to control EZdrummer myself (I'll play the parts myself). So far I use an M-audio trigger finger.

Nice man, yeah I just got it, and love it. Ever since my drummer quit...I don't need him any more LOL jus kiddin, but it makes demo's so much easier to make. Ever try the kit from hell? I downloaded a cracked version of it. Is it cool? Should even try it is all for like speed/death metal type songs? Thanks!
