New song from my band

Here's a new tune. The verses and bridge are rough, so it's just gibberish while Ben writes his lyrics. We got the chorus down, though. I recorded everything (engineered, not played, I mean).

The drums are our drummer playing on his edrum kit sending the MIDI to PT8LE, triggering Addictive Drums. The drums were then bounced to their own tracks and replaced with samples of Dan's actual kick and snare. They were then stacked with a 22in DW kick I had tracked a few months ago and another big "David Bendeth style" snare.

Guitars: Edwards Les Paul with blackouts, my PRS Mike Mushok Baritone with a JB in the bridge (coil tapped at all times for this song) and a Music Man 4-string StingRay.

Amps: it's a secret, though I will say that the bass was done with the Ampeq SVX Plugin with a tube screamer on a duplicated track.

Vocals were done with an Audio Technica AT3035, but we may re-do them with a Rode NT1000 next week if Ben has and changes to the lyrics. I'll definitely be re-tracking my harmonies (of which, I did all) with the Rode, as I don't like what the AT does for my voice.

 
You should have used that end riff at the beginning of the song. Man, you gonna need a keyboard player soon. :lol: :LOL:
 
Backing tracks baby. We've been running them for about a year and a half now. They never fuck up the part and don't bitch when you don't want their "awesometastic keyboard solo" all over every song. :D
 
Second mix is far better! Cool Song, I don´t like the sound of the drums but I´m shure that if the Drummer would have used a real drumset it would sound cool :thumbsup:

Yeah, you guy's should definitely be getting on some kind of national tour. The songs are there, the product(merch) is there, live production is there and you guys are tight. :confused:
 
Yea, we're working on it. Been mailing out press kits to any management/label/booking agent that will acknowledge us. Hopefully within the next 6 months we'll have something to talk about.
 
Here's the final mastered version of the song "The Confrontation"

The lyrics are based on a chapter in the book Ender's Game. Weird, I know, but we have a song on our current album based off of an episode of House, so I guess anything goes :lol: :LOL:

I even like your vocalist and that's extremely rare for me.

Thanks man! Yea, we all feel we get really lucky finding Ben. I'd wanted him to sing for me for about 4 years, and one day I called him up and he was available. Come to think of it, that's pretty much how this whole bank came together. I've spent the last year working on my own vocals to try to make myself mesh with him, and I think I'm getting closer.

They were done with various free plugins, the main one being TSX 30, based on an ENGL 530 preamp. The guitars were my PRS Mushok Baritone, PRS Custom 22, PRS Singlecut and a MusicMan Stingray bass.
