new studio clip yngwie backing track

This was a fun one to do because the tempo wasnt super fast and changes were cool to jam over. I did some experimenting with using a vinly marshall 4x12 cover since i'm playing a non-master 50w ( not barely on!) and just tucked a sm57 inside on it. I'm playing a YJM strat and a prototype OD clean boost pedal a buddy is making for me. there is a lot erratic/reckless playing on this but I wasnt about to spend a lot of time on it since my neighbors are starting to get annoyed. : )

thanks guys, you know man it did volume wise, but it does kinds have a muffle thing going on...i'm really noy sure yet, as matter of fact, looking for feedback on that. my ears are still ringing from this so if the guitar mix is too low or high, id appreciate some feedback on that as well.

Yeah...the guitars are a bit hot in the mix, but it evens a bit out once the high hats kick in. Still a bit much. Maybe add a little reverb to the guitars to give it a not so present feel. Might smooth it out a bit.
 
Friggin' great once again, Anthony! :2thumbsup: I can't say too much about the mix because I had to listen thru the clip at low volume level.

Yeah, the guitars are WAY louder than the drums. I can barely hear the drums. Tone and playing were killer though.

Ant, Regarding the issue with volume and the neighbors. You either need a small vocal booth enclosure like sah5150 has for his 4x12..... about $800, kind of expensive but it SOLVES the problem you and I have, or you can build a ghetto cab soundproofing thing like I built.

Buy an Auralex amp isolator stand which lifts your cab off the ground about 3 inches and that 3 inches is filled with Auralex foam, isolating your cab from the ground and hugely reducing the amount of low end that travels through the floor and out the walls annoying the neighbors. Then I bought a fairly thick, padded gig bag for a 4x12 cabinet. I cut a hole where the speaker I mic is. The other three speakers are blasting into a padded gig bag, greatly reducing their volume. Then I built a 2x4 framework around the cab and drape 6 layers of thick moving blankets from the floor to over the top of the cab over the 2x4 framework. It is all inside a walk in closet. It is surprisingly quiet. I've lived here 4 years and none of my neighbors have ever even commented on the "noise". You can barely, BARELY hear it on the sidewalk in front. I could probably play with my 100w Marshall cranked on 10 and Hot Plated only down -8db until midnight if my kids weren't sleeping in the next room. As it is, I have cranked up after the kids went to sleep and they didn't wake up! All in all I spent less than $200.

Oh yeah, clips sounds great! Tone, and chops-wise. Your 2nd mix with the "lower" guitar still features a mix that would make your bassist, drummer and keyboardist want to murder you :lol: :LOL:
