That would be a wise move but I don't believe you C'mon, seriously!steve_k":1gt0p82v said:rupe":1gt0p82v said:OK, serious question for Steve. Back when you got your CCV you loved it...what made you part with it (if you talked about this before I either missed it or forgot ) ?

at least a half dozen more men must have felt the same way because it has been in the hands of many men since, it should be up for sale soon again, it's that time of the month

I was told on several occassions the CCV's sounded quite a bit different from one another. Maybe these later CCV's were not as good as the earlier amps. Now that high quality components, etc. will be used, maybe they are going to be much better. Who knows but I am sure we'll find out.

Besides that you have seen what the Aldrich Camerons are capable of, or will you stick to them since that is the tone you were after in the first place?
Nico.
I have no facts about it except what a couple of other members told me. One member disliked his first one because it was too dark tonally. He said his second one was really good. Dave, yours sounds excellent as well as the clips I have heard from Nicks. I have seen gut shots of the CCV. I could be wrong but I saw some high uf caps in there. Is it possible the CCV has quite a bit more filtering than a stock Marshall which MArk mods? Maybe the guys that prefer the Marshall mods like the "feel" of the lower filtering? It sounds like the CCV is tighter and punchier which would explain the higher filtering. I could be wrong as well. I'm not completely sure. Just going by what I saw. Since Steve was tired of "The Old Thread", I wanted to contribute. I think I know what that old thread was. If you hang in there Steve, Maybe Brad could have you an Aldrich built from CCV parts by Mark. I know you are sceming.dawnofdreamx97":3gzo59f8 said:glip22":3gzo59f8 said:I have a sneaky suspicion these later CCV's were built with whatever parts Mark had around(Maybe this is where all the Marshalls in for mods went as they are MIA). I've played over 10 ccv's and they all were pretty damn close if i can recall... just saying.... maybe some were not the same... bottom line is that the Cameron stuff is still the king of the heap when it comes to shit hot and cutting guitar tones, NOTHING comes close to my ears. Doesn't matter what the amps were made of or what they looked like... not trying to attack here, just saying...
