New to forum & Egnater....I'm a Tweaker......Yea......

Hey all...........

I'm new here, but I've read, followed & learned a lot as I've lurked here over the past year.......Thanks guys........

I got my Tweaker head yesterday.............I've played guitar for 20 years now & never known great tube tone from 1st hand experience........I've heard great tube tone on cd's, at live gigs & on one other amp I owned..............I might just be one of those guys that was so use to using a modler that I didn't know what tube tone was........I did have some tube amps but none were really special to me..............

The Tweaker oozes great tone (s)................If this is what Egnater is all about then I'm hooked for life...........

I'm the type of player that needs a little verb or delay to feel good when I'm playing.........I stayed on the modern / clean / AC tone for about 45 minutes.........& loved every minute of it............This is with no effects at all...........This says a lot & is the most important thing I can say about this amp........I will be trying a Timefactor in the loop tonight though..........I'm sure it will only make things better.........

Then I tried the in-between tones........again just loved what I was hearing..................It was hard to move on to other tones, but every time I did it only got better & better............

Went to high-gain-land & liked it & thought it was good...........Then I realized that the master was almost at noon so I bumped it up to 1 o'clock & holy sheep $h!t............A sound I'd never heard out of a guitar and amp before........Sweet, smooth & raw.......The power tubes must be just cooking at this point.............I got some tones that I've always wanted......A Blues Saraceno type tone & a Cry of Love type tone as well.............This is a special amp that I assume only comes around every once and a while...........Or are ALL Egnater products like this? Hm...........Someone tell me yes please.......

I believe that this amp is soooo worth the money that it's hard to describe.........I had very high expectations due the great reviews by some great players on the diff forums............I really thought that it was going to be a let down.........Wrong again..............This little amp ROCKS..............

I tested it thru my 2x12 eminence Governor / Wizzard 1/2 back Geezer cabinet............Nice.............

I'm going to try my 2x12 closed back Geezer w/ Eminence C-Rex speakers tonight..........

The amp was quiet w/ the stock tubes & I don't think I'll even try changing them at this point..........

I'm sure that there are better Egnater amps & tones out there & I can't wait to own whatever amp makes them.......I'm saving my band checks as we speak..........Lol

This amp is not great for the money at all............It's just plain GREAT............This amp is so responsive that it WILL make you a better player.........Bends & vibrato give me goose bumps thru this thing........

I wish I would have tried Egnater a long time ago..........

Welcome aboard. Glad to hear you had such a great experience. If the tweaker can get Audley Freed/COL tones, it must be pretty special. I love his tone on Diamonds and Debris.

Yea.....I should not say what tones this amp can or can't get at all..............There is just something raw about this amp that gives it a very cool set of tones & reminds me of certain players...........I always run a few licks from these guys when testing amps & they just sound so great thru this little beast...............

Cool. Yes, now you know why Bruce has a following of many of us die hards. We love the tones and we love the flexibility his amps provide. I have had Mod 50 for years now and I still don't gas for any other amps.......except for maybe a tweaker!!

If Egnater tones only get better as I move on then I may need to invest in some "depends" undergarments as well..........Lol

Question:

I was just playing my Tweaker & noticed that only (1) of the (2) power tubes is lit-up...........

The amp sounds great & pretty loud.........Would the Tweaker still play / work w/ only (1) power tune operational?

Is the (1) power tube bad or broken? Can I hurt this amp if I keep playing w/ only one good power tube?

Please help me w/ this info............I'm new to Eganter & the all tube Tweaker.......

The one tube is completely black w/ no glow at all.........

I don't know, but one test would be to replace it with another power tube and see what happens. You could also go into GC, fire up a Tweaker, and take a look at it.

I had one bad tube & bought a new matched set of tubes Today from G.C.........Everything is up & fine & sounding good................

If it is within 90 days of purchase Egnater will replace the tube free. No reason not call them. Tubes on my Tourmaster went within 90 days and they replaced those.

I called & had the best customer service from a guy named Nate over at Egnater amps...............What a cool & informed guy...........He's going to send me a new power tube since I had the one bad one..............This was a great gear purchase for me...........There are just so many cool tones in this Tweaker head (It ROCKS )............I'm very happy.......

Here's my 1st clip w/ my new Flip Video camera......It was recorded pretty loud / hot so turn ur sound down a little.......

It's an ALL DRY clip w/ NO reverb or delay at all..........I don't like to play this way at all really.......I need a little something to help me sound good, but I still like the tone a lot.......Just some random wanking.....

Man, I can't see this from work, but I do know that I got my Tweaker yesterday and what a bitchin' little amp man!!

Sounds fabulous. Very pleased so far and can't wait to spend some more time rockin' it out.

Just a note, in the sample settings (which sound great) I noticed Bruce likes to have that master cranked up. It does sound really good like that.

This amp does sound very good at low volumes, but getting the master a little past noon makes this amp sing............Clips don't do this thing justice at all............It sounds huge in the room........................

I see you have an 11rack in that video. Have you tried the Tweaker/11r using the 4 cable method yet? That would be a video I'd love to see.

No I have not tried that yet..........I have 3-different rigs for different types of gigs or environments..........

The Tweaker is my guilty pleasure rig...........I will be recording it w/ a mic thru Pro-Tools & adding the 11-Racks effects to it after the fact at some point.......

I only use 11-Rack for recording right now...........fwiw

The Tweaker is a beast though & just FUN to play..........I'm going to make some low gain & clean clips to at some point......I've seen some great clips on the clean & low gian settings & not a lot of lead type clips & tones w/ no effects on............I'm a hack for the most part & I'm ok w/ that.......Lol

LOL, same here. I feel like I'm playing less and posting more these days... Life gets in the way.

If you ever setup a demo, shoot a link. Id be interested to here how the 11r works as a standalone processor with the tweaker.
