I am a proud new owner of an Egnater Mod 50. Unfortunately it is unloaded and here is were some of my questions come in. The flavor of the month for me is a Marshall sound from Journey and REO to GnR. What module would you recommend? Also, I am a big Vox fan but can you get a Brian May sound (Vox cranked up with a treble booster)?

As far as a cabinet is concerned, I was thinking about putting a vintage 30 in with a Alnico Blue. Has anyone done something like this or does anyone have any thoughts on how that would sound. Thanks for the input.

For the Marshall tones...i would recommend either a EG5 or a SL2X.

The VX can get some really awesome Brian May type tones on ChB. It takes pedals EXTREMELY well!!! :) I love it with a BB Preamp boosting it!!!!

You looking for a cabinet? Both RockStarNick and I have 2x12 egnater cabs for sale. :)

Welcome aboard.
I have 2 Egnater TM212 cabs. They are one of the best cabs, being you can use it as a closed or open back. If you get a Randall Mic Eliminator and replace the stock jacks with it you have the ability to record or go to front of house with your cab.

I had a Mod50, and have a RMod100 running through mine. Great cab and if your looking at swapping speakers out in it then grab one of the empty cabs. Both RockStarNick and Aeroic are top notch buyers and sellers.

Spam alert! You should buy my Twin module. :D

Seriously though, welcome to the family. I have the VX and EG5, and can assure these are both incredible modules. The VX might just be my most versatile module I own. The EG5 can do many things very well, including raw Marshall crunch.

I'd stay away from the Blue with the MOD50. You could easily blow the speaker with a 50 watt amp. The Egnater cabs are awesome.

I have a VX module and it sounds great with CL80's and V30's. The VX is my favorite module. It sits perfectly in the mix. Dave Mathews sound guy mixed for my band last Saturday night. He loved the Mod 50 and was impressed with the OD tones I was getting with the VX.
