Just got my old Egnater modified Soldano SP 77 pre amp. Did a few mods to it and paired it with my proto 50 watt power amp and it just flat out rips! Running thur the Egg 4x12 with bras and my Switch Steath loaded with a MCP bliss PAF. Get in line this thing is the shit! SLO pre amp after Bruce modified it back in 92...I did some tweaking and its close to EG5!

Which model Switch stealth do you have? did the MCP's install easily?

Oscar in oxblood red and yes I unhooked everything and installed the PAF...now its just a bridge pickup!

Hey Hilly....Glad to hear that you got the Soldano preamp back...That thing kills tone-wise and I hated to let it go,but
since I sold my VHT 2/50/2 I had no poweramp to run it with....Have fun and I'll be in touch about getting down to
the shop for a day and hang out to play all the stuff!!!

Ya I was in GR on Thursday for a GC visit and stopped to see Shep..played his stuff and he asked me to sell or buy the pre amp. I said I would. Played his VHT and it sounded way better once I dialed it in. He loves presence...loved my Eggy to the point he wants one now! Leaving on vacation this Friday for a week to FLA. Call me this week.

The 50 watt power amp hasnt been announced to my knowledge though its been heavily rumored...

As for the Soldano poweramp, Jeff was it a SP 77 or a SLO? Im a little confused by your original post. I was sad to see my SLO-100 go last week, then I played EG5 again and that feeling went away pretty quickly! Still love the SLO-100 though. Nothing sounds quite like it (EG5 is close enough for me). Its a great great amp, but has some serious limitations as far as Im concerned, most specifically the useless FX loop, blah clean channel, and need to be played ungodly loud for optimum tone.

It's a proto type we built 3 years ago for Kenny Olsen and he toured with it with Kid Rock..We got it back I refurbed it, fired it up and love it. So This might be our power amp but 100 and mono. Just playing right now with my building skills...nothing concrete.

It's one of the first run of the SP-77 that Bruce orginally did major work on for me. I got it back and tweaked it and man it rips. Got some SLO vibe but more early 90's Eggy! Has the mega mod in it I think. The one Bruce had published back in the day in Guitar player.

Ironically, I personally would be interested in less wattage, more than a high wattage amp. But then I do mostly recordings, and my last shows were in rather small clubs.
