Hello,

I just picked up a Tweaker on Saturday at GC, and I love it so far! I originally bought a Rebel 20 as they had them on clearance, but when I got it home it was DOA. I took it back to exchange it and all 4 that they had were dead, so I got the Tweaker instead. There are so many great tones in this little amp. It seems to love single coils and HB's alike, which hasn't been my experience with some of the other amps I've tried. Anyway I just discovered this place today so I have lots of reading to do. I'll try to keep the noob questions to a minimum :-)

Congrats on the new amp. I just ordered a Tweaker 88 this morning!

all of them new, out of the box? If not, I think GC should be a little more responsible, taking care of the amps, on the floor IMHO. They have heads not plugged into a cabinet (no load blows the amp) and they can't even change a bad preamp tube. They leave the amps on all day and who knows if ever they turn Them off? GC is a torture test for any amp and lately that is the only stk they have. I think some of these dead amps are caused by the vendor.
Just my opinion

Yes all of the Rebels were out of the box. If they had one that was new in a box I would have come home with it, but I am happy with the Tweaker so far. I never got to try the Rebel so I can't say if I would have preferred it. I should have tried it before I left the store, saving myself a trip. I am of the opinion that this doesn't reflect badly on Egnater. I know that not only do the kids in GC abuse the hell out of everything in the store, but I've seen employees plug amps in with no load or switch cabs with amps on, etc. They had a floor model Tweaker that worked and sounded fine, but I wasn't going to take a chance on buying it.

Trea, can you shoot me a PM and let me know which GC store this is with 4 bad amps there. That's obviously not something I want going on out in the world.
