Your singer sounds like he had too much alcohol that day. Your cleans sound good, solos sound good too, but you kind of messed up dialing the rhythm sound & between us your playing often doesn't really fit the music. Looks like you need another band

you are a great player Van.....honestly.....I wish I could do all that.....but I'm gonna have to agree with nbarts here........you sound like you're out of place there........ like you do "too much" for the type of music. Maybe in a metal band you'd fit better. I don't know hhehehe

just my $0.02

hey no worries! yeah singer man was sick as shit that day, the thing about the band is its mine so i do all the writing :D this is just my baby i use to do what i dont get to do as a hired gun ya know ;)

I wouldn't rate a guitar sound from a cam mic.

You rock, Andy. Your band rocks too.

Nuff said.

Thanks for sharing.

Hmm...it´s a cam mic. But i would add some treble. Your rhythm sound is everything, but not too bright. It could be brighter.
Lead and clean are very nice.

PMed you some harsh criticism, didn't want to post it on the board. :D

Hey man!!

First of all...you are truly an amazing lead guitarist! Hands down awesome!
I´m having a hardtime judging from a cam mic but I´ve noticed that alot of guitarist doesn´t use the mid enough...it´s in the mid where the guitar tone is. Try adding some more mid!
Otherwise....totall awesomeness!

I don't know how the Herbert EQs work, but if it's somewhat near the Einstein's........those settings are KILLER!

I'm sure it's the Cam mic.... compression, distorting, all that crap that an awful mic adds.

thanks for all the kind words and help. it does seem that all of the camcorder and youtube compression is jacking with the tone as i have the mid cut off for my rhythms in that vid, i will say a touch of treble might help, thanks guys for the heads up! And i certainly hope you enjoyed it Peter! your amps are the best!

Andy, your tones rock, plain and simple. What's bright to a Diezel guy is the norm to a JMP/JCM guy. Then there's the Diezel/Boogie comparison, and the Diezel/VHT/Bogner, blah, blah, blah.

The Diezels have a voicing all their own - and it SLAYS. I'd describe it was a modern-ish tone in the low mids, but tight enough to crush balls at 50m. They also have a treble spark very reminiscent of the modded Marshalls, without being brittle. There's enough sag to satisfy the tube purist and and tight enough to play SLIPKNOT/Pantera covers without worrying (for all of the SS-types) about cutting through the mix.

When coupled with your Andersons, it's like a stripper in a G-sting - not only do they go together - there's nothing more natural! Fundamentally speaking, as you know, the TAG's are on the "bright" side. Tom's wood selection (only the best) and his Hi-Fi-style pickups really allow his guitars to resonate freely, which allows the given wood character to really cut. When coupled with an amp like the VH4, you really have to be careful with the presence and EQ controls. But when married up to the Herbert, with its darker voicing, the TAG's sound wonderful!

Andy, your rhythm tones are KILLER.

Dude that's YOUR sound. Change nothing.

On the subject of your playing style vs the band style, I've got your DFU studio material, and you should go by the saying, "DON'T FUCK with stuff that ain't broke".
