Hello guys. Great forum here. I usually hang out at the MLP forums

I am looking at trading my mint Les Paul G0 for a Shiva. The serial # is 025031, is there a way to decode it so I can know the build date?

I am into Rush and Tool, the seller assures me that this Shiva will take me there and more. I have also read that the loop is not the best, my TC Electronics G/Major2 is part of my setup, so that has me a little worried.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated

good to see you on here Joe! Since I've already told you my feelings on the Shiva I'll let others weigh in.

For the date, the best thing to do is call Charlie at Bogner. Get the number off the website. Or you can just email them. He responds in about a day. I'd call though. He's a nice guy and can tell you the date off of that number.

Hope to see you on here more!

Thanks Tom,

I did email Charlie, and he did respond, it is a 2005 and he called it a transition piece.

As you already know I decided to splurge and bought new. My order was placed yesterday and should be here in 4-8 weeks. Enough time to sell a guitar or two.

20th with kts. Nice. We have a few people on here that rock the 20th a sheeves. Looking forward to your NAD!

Also, just a FYI, even though this is the right place to post a bog question you'll always get more responses if you post on the main rig talk discussion page.

Hey Joe:

Welcome aboard. Any friend of Tom's is a friend of mine!

It just so happens Tom and I have similar tastes when it comes to amps. I picked up a 20th Shiva about a year ago now, and it has knocked out a bunch of my other amps to become my main gigging amp. It sounds phenomenal - thick and chewy, even with a Strat with single coils. Cleans to die for.

A lot has been written about their FX loops, I personally have no issue with the loop in mine. However, I use an Egnater Loop Gadget in my loop, which has buffers on both the send and return legs and also has send and return level controls. It might be improving the usefulness of the loop....

Anyways, I'm sure you'll love the amp. Make sure you post up your impressions and a pic once it arrives!

Cheers,

Rob

Thanks for the welcome. I will be using my Gmajor2 in the loop.
I will be sure to post my thoughts and a pic for sure.
