I've been listening to various clips for a few weeks and I dig the tone. I looked on the site and saw he has 2 amp heads, one he says is more vintage and one more modern. I have a Dave Friedman 'Brown Eye' mod on my 71' Marshall 100 watt, a Herbert and a 2 channel Dual Rec (among others but those are my main high gain amps). I'm thinking of getting something heavier then my 'Brown Eye', I absolutely love my Friedman modded Marshall and would never want to change it, I'm looking to add to the arsenal. Kind of looking for something between the 'Brown Eye' and my Herbert. The Cameron seems to have a super articulate heavy tight crunch (from what I can get from the clips) that I love. I also played the Wizard at NAMM and was very impressed.

So I guess I just was wondering what you guy's take is on the subject? I need to play one for myself and see if it suits my playing style. Are there any Cameron dealers in Los Angeles? Is it just through the web? What's your thoughts on vintage versus modern version? Wizard vs Cameron?

I'm a record producer/composer so I do a lot of different styles, all modern, so the Van Halen thing is not a concern, I don't care if it sounds like 'Fair Warning' I just want it to sound great. I do everything from Pop Rock to Alternative to Metal to Black Metal.

Thanks in advance.

From what my friends tell me I want them both.

Personally I love it ...
I have some friends that swear by these amps. People who's ears I trust. I have yet to plug in.... I wish all these guys would mail me the amps so I could take the time to "check" them out ????
:(

I've been playing all day at the studio, going back and forth between my Friedman modded Marshall, Herbert and 2 channel Duel Rec. I love all three, dying to play a Cameron. Most of the people at the studio like the Herbert the best, I like both the Herbert and Marshall for different reasons. The Dual I own is awesome and a major workhorse at the studio and records beautifully in tandem with the Marshall but there's something a little unmusical about Boogies that make them not so fun for me to play, it's like they don't agree with my sense of music and the way my hands move. That's why the Cameron clips are so intriguing to me, the amp sounds like I would light it up when I play.

I just spoke with Mark, cool dude. I'm gonna probably head his way tonight when my session ends and fire some amps up.

Killer! Make sure you check out that fender twin circuit dude! it's a MONSTER!

Went to Mark's tonight and we played guitar for an hour or so. It was an 80's fest. Love the CCV, so quick and articulate and still musical. Great amp. It really started to sound awesome after about a good 30 minute warm up. Even though it's considered their vintage amp you could still get killer modern sounds. It was surprisingly versatile for such a beast, usually those amps toned down sound pretty anemic but not the Cameron it had some great middle of the road rock tones and some cool bluesy stuff. Excellent amp Mark.

totally... the blues and clean tones are 2nd to none in my opinion...did you fire up the twin! ?

We didn't, sorry. I mentioned the amp to him but he had so much going on in his room and he was trying to get the CCV set up for me to hear, it was a little crazy.

As soon as I woke up this morning the thought came to my mind "man 'Bark At The Moon' sounded awesome through his amp". Is there a place they can send me for such a personality disorder? :D
