So i have heard a couple of people say that the "Newer" Einy Combo sounds alot better the the older model... i was under the assumption that there was no difference... (from an earlier tread that Peter spoke in).

Is there a difference?

The "older" combo seems to sound great from the YT vids i seen.. thoughts???

I played a 2006 model for a while and I could not even think to elaborate that that model
could sound any better already regardless of what year it was made. Peter may move some components
around or change the circuit board to comply with safety regulations, but overall they are the same amp.
If there was a tweak to the circuit, that would be between Peter and his ears. Like most amp builders, they are never
fully happy with a designs. For all we know, in the combo it might just be the speaker or what wood is used in the cabinet.

I think I remember Peter saying that they changed the wood of the encasing in the newer models.

I have seen several new combos that have a GK100 rather than the traditional V30.

Im actually quite interested to know the difference in sound between the two speakers, anyone played both?

I don't know for the combos, but played my 100W head through a speaker cab that was first 2xV30 then I changed one the V30s to G12K. There's significant difference between these two speakers. G12K is faster and tighter sounding, to my ears.
