I picked up this Fernandes fv-80k about a month ago. I've been jonesing for another Floyd, and while I've had ~20 Rhoads types, I've never owned a Gibson style V - for $400cad, why not?

It's mahogany with a maple cap, has an sh-5 in the bridge. I like the layout, a humbucker in the bridge and single coil in the neck does everything I need. The truss rod adjustment is in the heel, and clearly it needs straplocks - about 10 minutes into rehearsal the top gave and it hit cement headstock first. No harm done, and it was still in tune. At least I know it's gig-worthy off the hop.

Until the next Japanese guitar comes along...

Killer! Japanese builds are consistently good to great. Can't go wrong IMO.
Congrats!

This guitar was in my watchlist for reverb forever! LOL

I'm glad an RTer picked it up

I don't limit myself to mij stuff, but I definitely gravitate towards it. I keep 6 guitars out to grab, 5 are currently mij lol. Gretsch 6120, 6128, 6134b, Fender E-serial str-314 boxer and this guy. American Nashville B-Bender never misses the cut, though. I've owned more mij Jackson/Charvel than I can likely remember too. I'm a fan of sorts!

I picked it up locally from a dude I don't think does too much selling. I can vouch for the quality if you see one pop up again though.
