NGD #2, This is the second hand built 1959 Les Paul Replica by a world renowned builder I commissioned 2 years ago for myself and a friend.

The first one I got was serial number # 9 1971 and was mentioned in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=122095&p=1423676#p1423676

This is the second one, serial number # 9 7666 commissioned for a rig-talk member that may decide to come forward or not...

It is a very light relic, Sheptone Tributes, and all of the old growth woods and late 1950's build techniques as the originals.

These are some of the finest Les Pauls I have ever played and that includes real 1950's Les Pauls. Just Amazing.

See here for more on the build process: http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/luthier ... build.html

Look for the third one 9 5464 in another update next week...

Much as with "VOS", I'd prefer mint non-relic'd. But gorgeous guitar and this guy's obsession with the original Lester build is pretty obvious - nice winged headstock wood grain. I've also always been keen on that sliver of wood that sticks out below the cutaway binding where the mahogany meets the maple. I don't like binding that covers this seam, I like it naked.

What's she sound like??

Jesus Brad...this one is even better than the last one. The top is amazing, and so is the board. I love the top carves he does way more than the current Gibsons. The LP I'm having built is off of his template because it looks so much better. Congrats, she's beautiful.

Nice! Are u keeping these for your collection or maybe selling one?

wheres the nibs on the frets?

The nibs on 1959 Sunburst guitars were very small. They are there on these guitars exactly the same size as the originals.
