Just got my Carvin earlier today so I figured I'd post my initial thoughts. I haven't played it through an amp yet, but it plays pretty nicely and it looks good as well. The neck is pretty thin, doesn't really feel like a typical Strat neck. It feels better than I was expecting it to, it doesn't seem cheap at all. The Wilkinson trem is so low profile, you can barely even notice that it's there. So far I'm pretty impressed with it. Pretty cool guitar for $500. Here are some crappy pics and the specs. I'll take some better pics later.

Specs - Sunburst finish, alder body, maple neck, ebony fretboard, 22 frets, Wilkinson VS100 trem, Sperzel locking tuners, HSS pickup config with coil split switch for bridge pickup, 5 way blade switch, 1 volume, 1 tone

Cool! What do you want for it?

Haha, I'll probably be lucky to get my $500 back for it.

My buddy has a Carvin neck on a Mockingbird body which is pretty cool. That neck feels pretty cool.

Yeah the neck on this one is pretty nice. If this one sounds good (before or after a pickup change if needed) then I might order a new one with a birdseye maple fretboard and a mahogany body. :)

Those things are only 500 bucks? is that new or used?

Nice looking Carvin Mega. Almost just like the one I used to have. Except mine was black with a white perloid pickguard, fixed bridge and black hardware.

I played mine for a few years before I ended up getting rid of it. I should have kept it because it was a really solid piece. Nice resonant body and the neck pocket was the tightest I`ve ever seen.

I think they are a way better deal than American Strats.

I got it used on Ebay. New ones aren't that expensive though. I think they start at about $650 or so.

Did you have a bridge humbucker in yours? If so, how did it sound? I think the one in mine is the C22B.

If it is a C22B what do you think of it? I really like mine. Not going to replace it for sure.

I'd say "Welcome to the Carvin brotherhood!" but we'll have to see if you keep it. ;)

Hope you dig it! I call dibs!

No amp down here at school so I can't say yet. I'll have to wait until I go home to try it with my 5150.

So, what are your thoughts on the VS100?!

I like it so far. It's holding tune really well. I didn't expect it to be so low profile though, I was expecting it to feel more like a Floyd for some reason.
