Bought a Charvel Legend which I saw advertised on Friday, and it arrived today. The seller bought it new in '89, and had hardly ever used it. Virtually unmarked. In a nice hard case too.

Don't know much about the guitar as there's hardly any info online. Mine is the rosewood fretboard version. Will post a few pics soon.

Not that I'm selling, but does anyone know what the Legend is worth ? Would like to know that what I paid was reasonable. Also, am I right in thinking it was Made in Japan ? If you happen to have any info on the Legend that would be appreciated.
 
Never heard of a Charvel Legend before.

There is a Wayne Charvel Rock Legend model....is it a Wayne you're talking?
 
No - it's an '89 Legend. Reported as being similar to a Model 7.

The Legend was part of the Charvel Contemporary Series, and came with a Maple or Rosewood fretboard. I got that info from the audiozone.dk website. It has the Charvel toothpaste style logo.

Most likely a Japanese built guitar, but probably still excellent quality. Congrats!
 
Hi Chubtone. I bought my other guitar brand new from you (Squid Music). A Charvel San Dimas Tele Style 2HH. I'm in Scotland UK. Got a friend in FL to order it from you, then they sent it over to me. Did that as it worked out cheaper even after paying shipping & import duty. Glad you reckon the Legend is likely to be good :-)

Nice guitar - probably in the $350-400 range. It isn't what I would call one of the more desirable colors (sea foam, white, black), but condition helps!

That said, keep it.
 
The toothpaste pointies were MIJ.

Charvettes were Korea, although I had heard rumor of some of the early ones being MIJ.

ah right....import model 7 with a toothpaste logo I forgot about that and referred to them as 7's
 




This MIJ 87' Charvel is the only one i have left, great guitar. :thumbsup:
 
I love those Fort Worth Charvels and Jacksons...nothing like a Texas shredder :D
