So I got this and played it for a bit. This guitar plays so well, and sounds thick and defined. The body is maple, so it’s pretty heavy, and the fretboard is a thick slab of ebony. One thing ESP does amazingly well is ebony fretboards.

This guitar through my tricked out SS100 reigns supreme. It is a mean, mean, playing machine. I am not a fan of the looks of the guitar, but it feels and sounds incredible.

I am not really a fan of the pickup in the bridge. I am not sure what Lynch model it is? The neck pickup is actually a great single coil. It’s some sort of ESP single coil.

ESP said they didn’t keep track of their serial numbers well and I am still waiting to hear back from them. On the ESP forum a few Kamikaze super fans are telling me it is between 89 - 94 They said that the 80s and 90s are the most sought after. This is an extremely well built super Strat.

The guy I got it from is a collector so it’s basically unplayed. I don’t want to say it’s mint, but damn, it’s close!

Congrats man. They are a beast of a guitar for sure. I have an early 94ish myself. The pick up in there if original should be a "Screamin Demon". The name is very deceiving as its pretty low output. I put a Duncan JB in there and never looked back. Here's my Kami 3 Desert camo.

These play astonishingly well!! So fun to play!! What was in the guitar pre screamin demon? Some sort of Duncan distortion type thing? Yours is cool!! I like that color scheme!

As far as I know the Kamikaze sold with a Screamin Demon. If the very first runs came with something else , not sure what that could be.

Amazing and congrats! I had a 2008 K1, best bolt on guitar I've ever touched hands down. Now I have an 06 Purple Tiger. They are both playing machines, I strongly feel you can do no better for a bolt on super strat.

Between they they had a Screamin' Demon and a Duncan Distortion- both of which I do not like personally- but I will say the K1 with the SD plugged into my Mark IIC++ DRG into a Marshall 1960TV (UK Greenbacks) was in the top 3 tones I've ever been able to produce and #1 for top mid-gain tone. Here's a clip with 2/3 of that combination.

Now in my Purple Tiger I have a JWP Iron Man and it KILLS (although to be fair cleans are not on the menu). I also ordered a single coil from Jim which I have yet to install.

Very nice Mike. Always wanted one of these when I was younger. The esthetics are a bit over the top for me now however. But, I’ve owned an old 80’s custom shop ESP and it was a GREAT guitar. Played like butter. Congrats

I really like the single coil that came in the guitar. It’s one of the better single coils I have played. I would not change it out.

I am going to leave the stick pickup in, because when I eventually sell/trade the guitar Lynch fans will want it to be stock with what he plays. If I planned on keeping it long term, I would definitely tear out that bridge pickup as fast as I could. I love playing it, but don’t like looking at it.

Here is one of my guitar projects I have going on right now. Kamikaze clone.
My intent was to have it paint by a auto body guy I know but that fell through.
I have it sealed, primered, and paint right now.
I have a kinda cool idea for it and then I’ll clear it.
I’ll make sure I post a pic when I’m done.
