I bought another Jarrett Forza today. This one plays and feels just like my other one. What's different about this one, though, is that it is the prototype and not a production model. This one was hand made in Connecticut and there's a little more attention to detail in it. It does, however, require a little work. I got fresh strings on it and started setting it up in standard C, but the nut fell off. I gotta glue it back on, and I'm going to rewire it to get it how I like it. Right now it's set up volume volume tone, and I want it volume tone tone. Other than that, it feels and plays great!

Here is the first one I got (#70) for reference. I need to retrieve it from the jam spot for a family picture.

Thanks everybody. I got the nut glued back on today and had a hard time putting it down. Not much free time to be had this week with gigs and such, so I'm patiently waiting until Thursday to rip it through the rigs and get a family photo. I know I still need to rewire it, but I want to hear the stock pickups before I change anything.

Until then, I have to be a bassist.

Looks pretty classy, clean design on this. I'd definitely play it.

Beautiful guitars!

Those fretboards look great but I’m so used to dots/blocks/traps that I think I’m dependent on them. But damn those fretboards look great just like they are.

Which knob layout you like the best? I think for V/T/T I’d like the second one. But for V/V/T I’d prefer the first one.

I love blank fretboard. Maybe it's because I play fretless bass, but I'm a sucker for a blank plank. My bandmates don't usually like it, though. It's hard to read a blank fretboard.

All I know about the knobs so far is that I don't like reaching back for the bridge volume. I want one volume below the bridge. It's rare that I use a tone knob, so I don't have a preference there.

I got them together to meet today at practice. The two are very similar, but feel and sound different. The neck on the prototype is a little fatter, almost a C or a D shape, compared to the production model, which is a flatter U shape. It's not much though.

I knew I wanted to rewire it because the knob configuration, but I got to hear the stock pickups vs the JB/59 setup in #70. I liked the JB/59 setup a fuck ton more. The stock pickups Duncan wound (Jarrett Buckers) were more shrill, where the JB just had more meat in the mids. I have a JB/59 sitting around, so I'm going to swap the pickups too.

Here is some more quick pics of them together.
