I've been looking for a "the special" XT in Black for years now; finally found one on the verb.

Made in Indonesia hamers of this era have crazy high QC - you can snag them for 4-5 bills and theyre much better than modern Epiphones (which are quite good, themselves)

If you want to get your Johnny Thunders on, grab one for cheap! They're easily on par with the mid tier Gibson specials like the Beato except cheap!

Happy NGD!

Although I am always curious how you end up with less “metal” guitars every time, knowing what music you prefer 😁

Because its easier to find cheap boomer guitars than cheap metal guitars that are actually good, I think 🤔

I used to own a black XT series "Sunburst FlatTop" which was essentially that guitar except with two humbuckers and no pickguard

Paid $179 for it brand new back then and it was solid as can be. Eventually sold it to a friend of mine who still has it

As far as import Hamers go I still prefer the older MIK non-XT models overall (the XT Standards compared to the old MIK Standards are especially bad) but they got these double cut models right for sure

Nice! Yeah the playability to price ratio is crazy if you can find the right run/importer

Especially if you are light in the pockets you can find an excellent player for very cheap with the import hamers
