So, I got a pretty nice discount, and I went for it.
Notables:
Neck profile is less rounded than a Pro series, slightly flatter, and sure feels wider. It's the Speed neck profile, with nicely rolled edges...Checks all the boxes, for me! Soooo comfortable!
Nickel frets are so nicely polished, I had to double-check the specs to make sure they weren't stainless! Nice and smooth, nicely done!
Inlays are beautiful. No cheap shit look like the Pro Series. And, no binding is actually a nice touch. I also hate the white plastic cheap shit look of it on the Pro Series.
This is a stellar guitar. Set up was awful, but it was a breeze to get 010's on, get the action low, and the heel mount truss rod adjustment is another nice touch, (for me anyway). So much easier to fine-tune, and buttery smooth.
Sounds fantastic. The JB's sound great, (I'm sure better quality woods contribute, as I'm typically not a fan of JB's, but they work in this guitar!) Punishing through the Fireball 100.
I'm glad to finally own a real Jackson. It's miles better than the Pro Series, (as it should be for the price!) Plays effortlessly, and feels like a real guitar. Not bad eye candy either!
