Fucking fedex... They delivered my guitar who knows where. They kept asking me if I'm sure it's not there. Yes I'm sure. The person who signed for it doesn't exist at my company. So anyway they opened a case to find it. I'm beyond pissed as it was supposed to be delivered yesterday and was "on the truck for delivery". Almost everytime something is "on the truck from delivery" then doesn't show up that day, it's almost always lost.

As much as I hate UPS the only issues I have with them is them breaking shit. Fedex seems to lose 1 out of 10 packages I send/receive through them. I can understand missing a small package but a guitar isn't exactly easy to miss or misplace. Yesterday I watched this driver just slam packages on our dock apparently not realizing these were chemicals that you don't want them building pressure....

I'm optimistic that they will find it but still frustrating.
 
everywhere i go i get to know a couple diff folks for future whoknowsthefuckwhat...; cops, and ups drivers.
 
What's bad is I got my Mark IV from GC and that was what I was worried about. It got here unscathed and GC did an amazing job packing it. Although they forgot the IEC. I just haven't had great luck when it comes to fedex and guitars. It always gets stuck in customs or lost or some hassle.
 
I have to say. I feel like it will turn up. I'm optimistic. I was talking to my wife about it and I was telling her how it looks every bit as good as I had hoped for and I can't just buy another one off the shelf like it. The closest would be a Gothic explorer but then it has a shorter neck, different woods, no locking tuners, no stainless frets, no tonenerd pickups..

It's like the equivalent of getting a personalized autograph pic of your favorite guitarist who is dead. Yeah you might be able to get an autograph pic on ebay but it's not the same.

My wife is really observant of my moods and feelings and she commented how excited and happy I seemed since seeing the first pics of it. I think it will turn up. But if it doesn't it's not the end of the world. Just a bummer.
 
I feel your pain, I bought a Japan only release Ibanez Prestige last month and they shipped it Fedex
Out for delivery on Thursday. Thursday night rescheduled
showed up 3 days later, they said the label was un readable and had to track it back to the sender to get the information.
thank god it showed up as it's a kind of unique piece but really? label unreadable?
Gave me a freaking heart attack

I hope things turn out for you Clint, that’s definitely heartbreaking, Hopefully they find it and you eventually get it.
… I have had nothing but grief from Fedex over the last five years and refuse to use them at all.
USPS is 10 times better, they have been flawless for me over the last decade, not one single hitch!

I'm glad you got yours. 3 days later the odds were against you.

Like I said I feel pretty confident it will be recovered. I'm worried yeah but I think they should be able to track it down quite easily
 
Surprise fuckin surprise 🤦🏻‍♂️ So sorry dude. FedEx has never been the same since 2020 covid. I live in Orange County CA and am on day 3 waiting from Fremont CA (5-1/2 hour drive from my home) waiting for a guitar. I called them yesterday and they basically told me to calm my tits. Beyond unacceptable. UPS would’ve delivered next day but possibly damaged. UPS are a bunch of apes. Which is the lesser of those two evils, ya know?

Thats the same thing I was telling my wife about ups vs fedex. UPS you usually get it but a higher chance of damage no matter how well it's packed.

Good news is Matt emailed me and said that the guitar was at FedEx and they are going to attempt to deliver it again tomorrow. Those guys are absolutely awesome. I'm definitely ordering another guitar from them as soon as I can put a new order in.
 
Anytime something is coming FedEx now I’m apprehensive. The delivery date estimate is never correct anymore and the tracking never seems to update on time. Day of supposed delivery the tracking will be 3 days out of date and it will say “Delivery by 9pm” or some shit until that night when it will change to the equivalent of 🤷‍♂️
 
Super stoked for you. I’ve been lucky, never an issue with FedEx and guitar stuff. UPS on the other hand beat up a cabinet in shipping and a Mark IV head in the past.
