saw it pop up last night on FB. It was a great price, so I jumped on it like a homeless man on a ham sandwhich. Killer guitar for the $$$. Was a little over a 3 hour drive, but I’m stoked! I’m not a Floyd guy, but think this is a cheap one? Plays itself, sounds good, looks great, and I’m into it for what I paid for a used EVH Wolfgang Special, with a HSC.

Peavey Wolfgang guitars are my constant revolving door guitar. I always want another one and every time I get one it doesn’t sound like I want it and then I sell it off. They all play amazing.

The Floyd is supposed to be higher quality on the NOS models compared to the originals. Honestly I’ve never had a problem with them.

I can attest they are not high quality at all. I had to do various upgrades, as they're a mix of parts, as I just sold one. Many have said they are Floyd Rose Specials with 1000 saddles. When I got mine, it was a tuning nightmare, and the bar wobbled, came loose just touching it, let alone any dive bombs. The nut is cheap, the locking pads and screws VERY cheap, soft, and attributed to the tuning issues and returning to pitch, (with a trem-stop installed, mind you). In the end, I upgraded the bar and nut with German parts, problems solved. But, it left a bad taste in my mouth that the seller was full of crap about it having no issues, (I also had to replace the tuners because the B-string tuner was so locked up and tight it squeaked, it was obviously fucked up), and I didn't like the pickups. The guy I sold it to absolutely loves it. They want north of 2k for these new, and use garbage Trems. Peavey should be ashamed. They do look and play beautifully though, but the bridge and nut are junk.

I had read that myself and it turned me off on them until a steal showed up. I plan on upgrading the trem on mine. Pickups sound great on my home amp, will see at band practice how they hold up. Might find a set of used USA Wolfgang pups or try something else.

I almost bought a real German Floyd, and it was a joy to play. I just didn't want putz around with a new Floyd with a 10" radius and try to have it feel right with a 14" radius neck. I know it's doable, I was just done with sinking more money in it. I'd say if you got it cheap enough, the upgrades are worth it. They play beautifully.
