Actually about a month old. It's a 2022 Plini NX to go along with the 2019 I got used back in 2021.

Not sure I've seen much Strandberg talk around here. Anyone else playing them?

If guitars could look woke, this’d be it

True. Ergonomic as hell and only 5 pounds though. My bad back loves it the most.
Did 50 years with Les Pauls & Strats and everything else traditional.
I'm a long time bud of their main US guy and he sent me one to try out.
Within 6 months I'd sold off everything else.

The new one has a nice forearm contour after they got so many well deserved complaints about not really having much of one.
I got so sick of how uncomfortable it was I made my own. The veneer top required a bit of ad-lib.

I've yet to play one of these weirdo-lookin guitars, are they mostly for sitting?

Congrats!

I’m generally a traditionalist when it comes to guitars but I am a Plini fan and I guess that’s all it took for me to want one of these.

But I’m also one that balks at the price for an Indo built guitar. One of these days I’ll cave and get one.

Damn those look epic af

Thanks! Took quite a while actually for the looks to grow on me. Maybe because of what I'd been use to!
Had a Les Paul on hand pretty much since I was 16. The only guitar I moved cross country back in 97.

Sold this after bonding with the Stranny. 60th re-issue Standard.

It's all about the factory though. Ed Yoon, John Suhr's right hand guy for years works with this one
and got them making top shelf stuff. On par with the Japanese Ibanez stuff for sure.

Ed's office and US warehouse is a 90 minute drive from me which is nice.
Dude's also the manager of Guthrie Govan and The Aristocats!

Older folks might remember Ed from Tone Merchants up in LA which he ran for ages.
Awesome dude!

The weird lower cuts make any sitting and/or lounging position ridiculously comfy but I play 99% standing.
I was beginning to get back pain after only a couple hours with a 7.5-8 pound guitar.
I play the Strandbergs pretty much all day with zero pain.

Amazing what a nearly 40% reduction can do.
I strapped on my SIL's Studio LP recently and nearly died.

I got mine late last year and I love it. A little weird on the first day but I got used to it fast and it's all I've been playing since pretty much. Light as hell and comfy to hold & play despite what I thought might be with that unique shape. I did change out the Volume pot for an Audio taper and I'm also chasing up some teflon washers for the bridge as mine is prior to them being installed. Mine is a 2016 Boden (Korean) and was the guitar Plini was playing at the NAMM16 videos I found on the Youtubes. I don't know the details but I guess that it was a general store model used for the event, signed by him and sold off by Music Zoo afterwards. Somehow it ended up down here in Aus afterwards and then into my hands by my luck.

Your guitar looks beautiful, I love the woodgrain Plini models. They remind me of what I love about the old Reb Beach Ibanez models. I caught Plini's current tour at a local venue and it was fantastic gig.

cool guitars for sure, congrats man! Never played one, but I think they look really great! You sold a couple of MONSTER guitars, you had a helluva stable!

Good to know! I’ve also been lusting for a Guthrie sig but those are pretty expensive. I need to just set my sights on one of those or gtfo. No more wandering eyes!

Didn’t realize Marco was so tall. He was sitting the whole time I saw the Aristocrats. Love his drummering.

If you ever do consider a Strandberg you can get a blem for at least 15-20% off list.
All I've ever owned considering how anal the factory is over what they consider a blem.
You don't need to go nuts to at least experience all the weirdness first hand.

That’s not bad, I think I’d want a Prog tho. Cheapest blem Prog 6 I saw was $1893, which at that point I’d probably just look for a used Guthrie sig. Do they sell the blems anywhere else besides Reverb?

Use to be direct thru the warehouse but they hooked up with Verb about a year ago.
If the listing is Riverside it's their location.

The Plini's are Progs except the switch is a 3 way and there's no tone pot.
I've played a Fusion and much prefer the Prog/Plini.

Killer dude. I’m looking in to them possibly for my next seven string.
