Finally got my new Suhr Standard yesterday
Specs are:
1 piece maple reverse headstock
Even C Slim
Medium Frets
Gotoh Floyd
Sperzel Locking Tuners
Black Hardware
Aldrich Neck/Bridge Humbuckers
Bengal Burst quilt top
Abalone face, side dots & logo w/ gloss headstock
10-46 strings
Plugged it in today into the Vintage Modern and Mark IV and it sounds awesome
The neck feels a little different than what I am used to due to it being unglossed but after about half a hour I got used to it. Plays really easily, currently no fret buzz anywhere but I am hoping to drop the action a little lower. Its set up for 10's at the moment and I am just not used the tension yet so my bends sound kind of flat The neck is a little thinner than my Fender Strat which is a plus for me, however compared to the Anderson HDT I prefer the neck on the Anderson, but the tone of the Suhr just sounds better. Upper fret access is much easier on the Suhr also due to the Contoured heel on the Standards. I just got rid of the Tom Anderson to get a Mako Mak2 but will probably get a regular drop top later in the future . Probably will get more time with it this weekend to actually do a thorough review of the guitar and maybe try to get some A/B clips of it against my Strat, but being tax season and all that is a very slim possibility, my playing also got really sloppy lately . The Quilt top on this guitar is probably one of the best I have ever seen on any guitar, it looks darker in person though due to the flash of the camera in the picture but it looks just as amazing in real life Overall I am really happy with the guitar, especially the tone
Here's a pic for those who haven't seen it. I had my digital camera at my desk last week but now it disappeared, once I find it again I will try to post pictures of it with less flash. Picture right now is the one taken by the Dealer
