I picked up my Anderson Drop Top today about 8 weeks sooner than the original estimate for the build time. The guys at Anderson were fantastic to deal with and supportive throughout the process. Tom answered all my dumb questions personally and kept me up to date throughout the build so I can't say enough about their customer service. The guitar turned out perfect.

Basswood body w/ Quilt Maple Top (Trans Blue)
Hard Rock Maple Neck w/ stainless steel frets
B5 switching
H2+/SC1/H1 pickups
Floyd Rose

wow, thats too classy for me. I like them DIRTY whores...but thats an uptown girl for sure!

I've got a Les Paul for my dirty whore guitar but wanted something classy for the stable and this fits the bill in spades. It plays beautifully and I'm already impressed with the H2+ in the bridge ;)

Very nice looking guitar. Curious how you like the H1 pickup in the bridge? Not surprised you like the H2+, that is a great pickup.

Also curious about the B5 switching, do you happen to know what that means?

I picked the H1 from talking to Tom about it. I wanted it slightly higher output than a normal neck humbucker but not over the top hot. The B5 switching explanation below is copied from the Tom Anderson website:

"The small toggle between the volume and tone control is a master splitter switch.

Here is how it all works:

Let’s call position 1 the neck position. Positions 1-4 of the 5-Way switch operate traditionally and the master-split toggle switch can be used on any of these settings to get either series or split out of each pickup.

Position 5 is full-power bridge humbucker all the time. This feature allows for soloing with one flick to position 5, no matter which other tone setting are in use. We affectionately call this feature the “Blower Switch.” On the B5 set-up the “Blower Switch” is the 5th position of the 5-Way.

The push/pull of the tone control allows for the addition of the bridge pickup to positions 1 & 2 only. This gives the added pickup combinations of neck + bridge to position 1 and neck + middle + bridge pickups for position 2. The add-bridge switch only functions on positions 1 & 2 so there are no redundant switching positions.

To sum up:

Position 1: Neck Pickup (series or split with toggle selection)
Position 1 alt: (with push/pull in up position) Neck + Bridge Pickups (series or split with toggle selection)
Position 2: Neck + Middle Pickups (series or split with toggle selection)
Position 2 alt: (with push/pull switch in up position) Neck + Middle + Bridge Pickups (series or split with toggle selection)
Position 3: Middle Pickup (series or split with toggle selection)
Position 4: Middle + Bridge Pickups (series or split with toggle selection)
Position 5: Bridge Pickup (series always)"

By the way, if anyone is on the fence about stainless steel frets let me just say this....unreal. Getting around the neck, bending, and vibrato just come easier with them from what I can tell so far. The feel is definitely different but very easy to adapt to.

Congrats, very nice looking guitar.

How does it it compare to your other favorite guitars.
