I finally broke down & got one of my childhood dream guitars.

I really just bought it for the snake skin-ness of it all, but it's a REALLY great guitar. Go figure!!!

Now if I can find a Lynch Russian Camo Sub, I'd be set.

Hell yeah, always wanted this one..and the ESP Wilton glowing skulls....80s to the max! \m/

Now you need to get the real thing :D

:)

Your Performance guitar looks amazing.

The real thing would've cost me over $6,000, which is considerably more than what I paid for mine.

Thanks. I own 2 Performance snake skins. I bought both used. First one was $2k ish. This one, I just bought a few weeks back for $3K. Right now, another is on Reverb for $4500 which I'm certain will sell for less.

$2K is very reasonable.

I looked online before buying the Charvel & I couldn't find a used Performance or Charvel anywhere & a new Performance was over $6k.

Congrats. They kick ass and play even better.

I love mine, the tones from the neck pickup are very cool. That Performance DeMartini looks wild!

I was really shocked how good the Quarter Pounder neck PU sounded.

I'd Never heard one before, but it's probably the best neck single coil I've ever played. Thick, fat & Throaty, but with lots of definition.

Sounds like you are already plotting to get another one. :)

I had a Charvel Blood and Skulls years ago. Great guitar! I sold it to get a Les Paul, which I don't regret, but love Charvels. I'd love to get a Performance. Any DeMartini fan knows about his association with that brand. Hell of a player.

I bought the second because it's dead mint and Kunio would not build one right now. I don't think I would get a 3rd snakeskin unless it was a deal I could not pass up. I'd like to order a KOA with the exact specs of the black Corsair I just got a few month back. Kunio is 69 so I don't know how much longer he will do this. I don't think he is stopping anytime soon though.

Congrats on the new guitar! I've wanted that guitar since I first saw the Lay it Down video back in the middle 80's. I've got a New York Clones model that is faux python with the DeMartini Duncan in it and a killer Birdseye maple neck. Great guitar.

Congrats on the Charvel. I have 3 MIA proMods and the Di Martini MIM I have plays and sounds every bit as good. I had a very strange issue with mine with neck-shift, even tho the pocket was tight. I fixed it with a glue stick... just in case you find the same problem.

yeah I love them 2. Have you tried a dimarzio SDS 1 ?? they are very similar but to me sound a fraction better. I have found the QP are quite dependant on the guitar wood to get "that" tone warren has on things like war in D...where as the SDS1 seem to work in everything

Lynch and Warren always had the coolest finishes back in the day. My dream guitar back then would have been my own personal custom shop Jackson/Charvel with some unique graphic of my own specification.
