Watched this Saturday morning with coffee.. That dude wails.

This is a much watch . I learned so much watching this

One of the best shows I’ve ever seen was GB in Boston around ‘90/91. It was the definition of style and smooth. Incredible band, backup singers, the whole thing. Women were actually going nuts for him and in the coolest laid back way he just steps up to the mic and just goes “Oh, hush”

I feel like you just shared some dirty secret you've been hiding from the chug bros. Wait until they get a load of this, lol

Breezin’ and Give Me The Night were in heavy rotation at my Mum’s “bridge” nights when I was a wee lad. I was the record flipper/DJ.

Been a fan since the late '70s. So many masterpieces.

To this day I still can't get through listening to Nature boy without getting emotional, so I don't listen to it:

Oh yeah, he shredded big-time in the '60s and '70s.
I had posted a Tal Farlow/Lenny Breau video of them smoking a very fast version of Cherokee. He said he would listen to it but I think he was trying to keep me calmed down and was just telling me what I wanted to hear.

Could be.

The problem with trying to get folks to listen to jazz isn't the "but you can't make it drink" part of the old saying - it's the "Can't lead a horse to water" bit.

George Benson is from another dimension.

When I was a teenager I was into Zeppelin and Kiss, but this tune grabbed me and never let go.

George Benson's guitar playing and singing = perfection.

The percussion breakdown with Harvey Mason on drums and Ralph McDonald on percussion is a masterclass in how to play subtle but kick serious ass at the same time.

OK, I just found this a few minutes ago but holy fucking shit, this performance is insane. It's a more high energy live version of "On Broadway", and that's an understatement. This is face melting music. George sounds like God's own guitar player and God's own singer. Fucking astounding.

I'm 62. Been playing drums for 52 years so I know a thing or two about killer drumming, and let me say that Hugh Moran's drum solo is one of the sickest I've ever heard. Talk about pocket! Fuck!

And here we have George Benson at someone else's gig at the legendary Cafe Wha club in NYC. (David Lee Roth's Uncle Manny owned that club!) and he gets called up to the stage to do a guest version of "On Broadway"... On a solid body shredstick with three single pickups...

He plays the first two chords and you get the message: "In case you didn't know, I'm the KING".

Dude makes me want to practice even more... And more... And more...

Well, he's the only person to ever get his own signature Twin Reverb so he must have something going on, haha.

That's actually a Bobby Womack creation. Of course George made it into a hit.

He talks about it in the interview; said he wouldn't do it unless there was something he could add and he talked to Bobby and Bobby said "I wish I could have added this part (the lil intro melody)" and then George did it
