The first Norlin I've got. I was GASing for a Silverburst since a while but there isn't a lot of good choices out there. They only started making Silverburst Customs again sporadically around 2007 (?) and went richlite not long after. Maple neck VS Richlite, had to pick the lesser of 2 evils haha. At least it's not a pancake and not as heavy as I expected. The neck is quite thin and most of the finish are gone, plays really fast with the bare maple.

It had lots of gunk all over it. Got rid of the most of them with damp microfibre and elbow grease. A friend recommended the Virtuoso Cleaner which removed the rest. Still smells horrible after that, so I wrapped it in a blanket with packs of activated carbon for a few days. Doesn't smell so bad now. The original case still stinks and only has 2 latches intact. Will get a Gator or SKB soon.

The neck pickup is a T Top which sounds lovely. Someone replaced the bridge pickup with a neck version of Duncan 59 at some point, I replaced that with a Lace Deathbucker which is a lot closer to my liking.

Overall I still prefer my '90 LPC (and my R9 obviously) but this has a lot of character. Also with the 3pc maple neck and volute I probably don't have to worry about a headstock break haha.

That's a man's guitar...none of that pretty shit goin on, that one got loved the right way...being played. Great grab man.
Love those silverbursts.

So green and horribly beautiful! Silverburst LPC is at the top of a very short list of must owns for me.

My buddy back in 1980 tried to convince me to by one of those. I bought the beat-up 1955 Strat instead. Doh!

If you ever sell it. Let me know! I am one of the rare ones who absolutely love the Norlin era stuff

The strat would probably worth more nowadays? Not a bad choice haha.

You've got a '90 Les Paul Classic or Custom?

My LP is a 79 Silverburst too. Love it. Got it brand new. It's been through the wringer - several times, and still sounds so sweet.

You are in for a load of fun!
