Just got in two new modules today from a guy over on the MTS forum. A T/D and a JH modded SL2x.
First issue I notice, the mid pot on the SL2x seems like its operating like an on/off switch. No biggie, I figure it's as simple as replacing a pot, or possibly a bad solder joint on the mid resistor.
Next I plug in the T/D (I'm actually planning to flip this one for a COD with a guy over at HRI forums. Everything sounds fine, just like my old T/D did. Then I try to turn the treble knob.
Crucnhy...
Mid knob, Crunchy.
Bass knob, Crunchy.
I remove the module to do a visual inspection. Looks like the chassis has been bent a little, obviously during shipping, even though the modules were well packaged. I proceed to disassemble the module to get the chassis straightened out. As I'm doing so, all three tone pots totally come loose, leaving the pins in the circuit board. Looks like I need not one, but four new tone pots. I figure these are pretty small issues in the grand scheme of things, considering that both modules work, other than the stated issues. I'll get some new pots, and be good to go.
So, Ian... How does one go about getting replacement pots?
