Just got my XTC module in today. Scored this little gem on ebay for just over $100. Kind of hard to pass up. So far, I'm really digging the amount of gain, but I definitely think I'm going to try some different caps. Maybe some orange drops. Hopefully I can get around to re-tracking my amplitube guitar tracks ( ) now that I've got myself set up for recording again. I think this would be great to double track with the EG5. What are some of you guys's experience with this module, if any?

you're talking the Randall one, right?

I had one. It was smooth as hell. I liked it.

Had a couple of stock Randall ones and a couple with Gigmods mojo in...never really cared for them......until I had Jeff Hilligan do the 'Alice In Chains' mod to one....that's fantastic but am not sure exactly what he did or whether he can still do it...

Yeah, I need to do some tracking with it to see how it sits in a mix. Definitely some good smooth gain right out of the box.

I definitely think I'm going to get JEff to do the Mod eventually. Just laid down some tracks tonight. So far, the XTC stock, sits pretty well against the EG5, but everything I've heard is very true. With the 7 string, it tends to loose a little attack. Really pleased overall. Probably the biggest sounding guitars I've ever recorded!

I'll try to post some clips once I get things a little more polished.
