On my main laptop, I login and come to the two step screen. However, no email arrives. I have never changed my email, it’s correct in my RT account details when I checked on my phone. Nothing is going to Spam. Just no mail.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks

It can take a bit, maybe even up to several hours. Server propagation etc.

If all else fails, you can refresh, reboot laptop, cycle router, etc.

Thanks for the replies. There are no issues with my machine, router, WiFi, etc…I am receiving all other expected mail and all my machines are working correctly. Still, I’ve restarted and done all usual due diligence steps.

I am logged in on several devices at the moment (not all are active and online), all except my main personal laptop.

Still not getting the email. It will be interesting to see what happens when another of my devices is logged out, though I’m not going to do it manually.

This isn’t the end of the world, lol, just kind of a pain in the ass.

Not that it matters, but as other devices of mine reached the 30 day limit and logged off, those too all would not trigger the 2 step mail, so this is bizarre. I finally solved all this by using my one, still-logged in device to my email address to another one, re-verifying, and all is well. My main email is an older AT&T address, "@sbcglobal.net" which I've had since the late 90s when I was a youngin'. I've heard of those addresses sometimes having issues, but I've never experienced it before.

Anyway, anyone who has repeated trouble with the 2 Factor might try changing email addresses, as that worked in my case.

Glad you worked around this. Assuming some newer gmail or yahoo address worked for you?

This 2F shit is a pain in the ass. Every time I log in I gotta use some code ?

I think there’s a checkbox on the page where you enter the code. The checkbox refers to remembering your device for x days, most likely. Check it.
Check it before you enter the code.

Did that. Next time I logged in it asked for a code.

Strange bro'.

It should only be once a month IIRC.

I could be doing something wrong homey. I'll just stay logged in. No real reason to post in classifieds anyway other than to comment. Help folks out or whatever. Although there are a few things if they came up for sale I might be interested. For the most part I am retired from the music biz and fairly content with the gear I have. I have some stuff I could let go I guess, but the old man always said " It don't eat nothing". :dunno:

Sounds like you might just as well turn 2FA off and toggle it back on when you want to interact re a sale.

Of course it would be preferable for this to be properly-sorted somehow...

I don't log out very often; I stay signed in and the "trust device for 30 days" checkbox seems to work for me. I mainly use Chrome on my desktop, but I just tried Safari and it behaved the same way as Chrome does and only prompts me for the 2FA code if I leave the checkbox unchecked.

Shot in the dark suggestion: clear your cache (Safari > Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data > Remove the info for RT or just remove all).

I think I cleared it. I bought some shit online last night and I always clear it before and after I do that.
