especially to the mods:

Being the proud owner of an amazingly sounding TBR-1, I do miss the well deserved recognition in this board.........

There are really lots of manufacturers mentioned I never ever heard of in 30 years of practicing and performing, but I´d wish that there would be an extra space for this company and their stunning items.....

Btw: I´m not a paid promoter or anything, just a satisfied customer ;) ;)

Best wishes :)

Franco

I´ve been wondering the same for ten years, Rivera for some reason just never went mainstream despite building a lot of cool amps over a long period of time. But on the other hand it keeps the second hand value low, which is cool if you´re looking to buy one.

As for the board space for Rivera, I suppose they´d be welcome to the manufacturers forum it they wanted to. But apart from their nice Youtube channel, they seem to keep a low profile online.

I love mine, I have a k-tre combo for the high gain and clean stuff plus a venus 3 for a different clean and low to mid gain plus it's my grab and go amp as it's 1/3 of the weight of the tre. I have literally sold all my other amps since getting these and couldn't be happier. I continue to play/demo any amp I can get my hands on but have yet to play anything that I like better - or even equal to - the riveras.

I had a Bonehead (Lukather modeal) for a while - loved the versatility of that amp... but too loud for what I needed at the time
NO issues with it - great build quality and very diverse sounds... clean was Fender clean, and gain was a Skid Row off the hook grind (Think "Monkey Business").
They were actually helpful with me on the phone when I was looking for info on it, though I got the feeling that there was some bad blood with Luke.. dunno on whose end.. but they were really reluctant to discuss that amp, beyond my technical questions...

The thing with the Bonehead is that Paul and Luke had a falling out over the money coming in from the Los Lobottom concept, and subsequently Luke says the Bonehead never really sounded all that good and Paul says the Bonehead is the one amp he wasn´t happy with.

I´ve got an old-style Knucklehead K55 and a TBR1, by the way. The only amps I´ve bought for the last... eight years, I think. I really like them.

I had a TBR1-SL, it was a cool sounding stereo tube amp, heavy as heck and not exactly what I was looking for...but a great amp. The pickup comp and 5 position mid setting were really cool features.

i've recently re-discovered my rivera designed yamaha g 100 210 built back in the 70's. while it doesn't like every pedal i've put in front of it.. it likes most of them. it particularly doesn't like my big muff pi with tone wicker for some reason. other than that it's a great sounding amp imho. makes me wonder why i let it sit for so long without trying different things with it.

Yeah, the TBR´s are very, very versatile. Supposedly Rivera has said they would cost 3500 bucks to build today, which kinda makes sense considering the features and the fact that they´re ridiculously overbuilt.

I have had 4 Riveras. They all had the best clean channels that I have ever heard on any amp. The gain channels are hit and miss with me. I would (and probably will) buy another.

cool answers...........I believe they still committ emotions, don´t they?

Regards

Franco

BTW: What about an own Rivera space in the manufacturer forum? :D

Got an M60 and TAC-112 right now...Mullard pre's, RFT EL34's about 10ma apart.

With a les paul type guitar, it slays. 80's hair toanz for miles, perfect cleans. It's like that amp was designed for Strats and Pauls.

I think this would only happen if someone from Rivera wanted it, and stopped by from time to time. I don´t think we can get a dedicated subforum without manufacturer participation. By the way, I have the Rivera Lounge thread going on HCAF, and that could very well be the most active place there is about these... even though it´s slowed down a bit lately.

I have a TBR-2SL -a fucking post-rock monster

and

a TBR-3 power amp. (probably my favorite power amp, overall)

I would venture to say... part of it may be in the manufacture's name... Rivera... as sad as that may seem, it has something to do with it. If I'm not mistaken Mick from Slipknot even played Rivera's for a while until he went to Orange amps... even "Orange" is a cooler name that "Rivera"... that's the world we live in when you don't want an amp with a stupid name... honestly... I think Axe-fx is a dumb name... but damn, the sounds that come out of that thing!

Are you kidding me?

I think "Rivera" sounds fucking awesome. Like a Cuban Drug Dealer who shoots people. Like Scarface.

Orange sounds like a fucking Fruit basket.

I've owned several Rivera amps over the years. Wish I still had my M100.

I sold my K Tre to my son, it was better suited to what he plays. And believe it or not, it had too much gain for me. I liked it, but it just wasn't jiving with my band situation. (...that we are still trying to get off the ground...)

One of the coolest live tones I have heard in a club was a Rivera Chubster!

Three month Venus 5 owner here. A very nice, approximately 40W Class A amp with the gain of a K-Tre and the cleans are absolutely the best I've ever had in an amp. All in all a really impressive amp. I made some cool cosmetic mods that I'll post pictures of later.
