nobels mf1 on herbert

hello i just received an used mf1.

i can't make it power on thru phantom power.

i plugged the 5 midi calbe o the midi in of the herbert then the other connector to the midi out of the mf1 but is stay turned off....

i set the pedal board to phantom power option.

maybe you have to change the polarity. i did this with my midi cable so that my VH4 works with the Engl midiboard.

do you use a seven-prong midi cable? as i found out via manuals from the herbert and the mf1, the herbert sends 12V through pin 3 and 7 (ground 1 an 6) and the mf1 receives 9V through pin 3 (ground 1). did you pay attention to this?

don't know if this is a problem though...

i thought i need a simple midi calbe... but i learnt i'd need a different calbe...

everything is ok now, finally

just one question, MIDI TRANSMIT CHANNEL is bette rto use on the herbert with a midi device?

mi éra capitato una cosa simile!
ho comprato il mio PROEL MS-16 con un cavo midi,sono arrivato
a casa ho collegato il tutto ma non riuscivo a farlo funzionare.
sono tornato in negozio con l ampli e pedaliera e lá funzionava perfettamente.
poi ho capito che non avevo inserito bene il cavo.

do you use 0 127 channel option or the 1-127?

i like to use the 0 too but as the manual say, if you turn it off the pedal reset itself to the 1 127 mode. and you lose your presets

i like the 0 channel cause i made alla the presets as possible: clean, celan mid cut, ch 2 , ch 2 mid cut, ch 3 , ch 3 mid cut, ch 2 vol 2, ch 2 vol 2 mid cut, ch 3 vol 2, ch 3 vol2 mid cut.

on the 1 127 mode it isn't possible otherwise you change row ( 10 11 12 channel )

I play the VH4 and I want to use an engl z15 midicontroller. Can I use the phanotm power of the VH4 to power the z15? Is it right that the VH4 uses DC and the z15 AC? So this will not work in no way?! Will I have to buy the columbus and why does columbus cost 100€ more than the z15 and has less features? Please exlplain this so me

You can use the Engl midi boards but their pin assignment is different so you will have to mod either the Z-15 oder the midi cable you're using.
I have a Z-12 that was sold to me with my VH4 and so had already been modified.

Another option would be to use a Nobels MF-2. It basically has the same features the Z-15 has but can be phantom powered without a mod.
